Hal shocks worth it?
Is it worth it to get the front Hal shocks? I have G2 springs, will they work with no problems? Should I go ahead and get the rear shocks as well? TIA

Re: Hal shocks worth it?
The Hal's shocks are well worth the investment for the dividents it pays for at the track. You can adjust shocks on front and back not only for track conditions but for the power level of H P generated by the mods on your car. The higher the power level--different settings it will require. It is a great tunning tool at the track. Kent.

For faster cars, yes, the front Hals are well worth it. For REALLY fast cars I'd go with Afcos (got mine from our sponsor, Jay Billingsley) all the way around.

Can't speak to the front. But as far as the back you can get a better bang for the buck with the KYB AGX. In the rear ypu want to go stiffer over stock. The KYBs lowest setting is 1 and that equates to OEM. So you can get 8 levels of adjustment on their 8 way shock.
The HALS OEM is about 5/6 on thier setting. Since you want to go stiffer you will also have 7/8 levels of adjustment with the HALs in the rear.
I got my rear KYBs from Les Schwab $230 installed for the pair. The HALs will cost you abut $100 more for a pair.

"colonel,
what makes the afco's that much better?"
Mainly that they are adjustable for compression and extension separately. You could have the compression on the front extremely stiff for keeping your car off the ground when coming down from wheelstands but at the same time have the extension really loose to aid in weight transfer.
They're also just a lot nicer and higher quality shock. VERY silky smooth rather than jouncy.

I agree with Terry. I got the front HAL's and I don't think they are worth the money either. I have seen zero improvement on my 60ft. times with them. Save your money and use it on some other mods that will give you more bang for your buck.

Re: Hal shocks worth it?
I'm putting mine on this week and will give results Friday night. I run on a not so sticky track and have to run et streets in the class I run in so my traction is a little limited. I'm hoping under these circumstances they will help a little.
One word of advice, shocks and springs are made to give MORE traction. If your not spinning to begin with then there reallyt is no room for improvement.

The front Hals most definitely helped weight transfer in my case (traction limited even with slicks.) Made hooking more consistant.
I also installed the Hal front springs with them, btw.
