World's fastest street Supra?
9.41 @ 157.56 mph - Titan Motorsports/SupraStore.com Orlando
This car is a 6 speed and is on drag radials with NO nitrous, how much power must this car be making on turbo, like 1000 hp?

Re: World's fastest street Supra?
But the other one was using a direct port NOS setup and still broke.
157mph @ 2900 lbs is like 150mph at 3500 so I am still very impressed that is just on turbo... kind of like Speedway Bill's old C4.

and which one could you drive around and have fun on the street with?
me and you might have different opinions here and i'm not knocking the titan car its a purpose built race car for a "street class" thats how most end up anyway. The Titan car is dead on ***** fast no doubt about it, i just dont think it is very practical thats all.
i think it is more impressive to take a very streetable supra and beat an all out race supra and that is just what marko did.
if he didn't lift the gasket you are easily looking at a 9.5 for that car or better and the titan car has gone 9.4

Re: World's fastest street Supra?
The Titan car got tree'd but not a lot of folks can shift a full clutch car (not Jericho) and run a low 9 at almost 160mph... Just think what that car could do on a slick, high 8 second pass with a manual transmission!
I'm impressed with both cars, but almost 160mph on drag radials with a stick is much more impressive.
John
Lowly Auto tranny dude

Re: World's fastest street Supra?
The Supra belongs to the owner of Titan Motorsports, his name is Niro. I guess he finally did the $25,000 engine upgrade he had been talking about for years.
I remember a while back when the would run 11.7 @ 131 MPH 1.7 60' once that car hit the 1/8th it was like a bullet.
Last time I saw the car it had full interior, custom sound system and DVD.
Next time I'm at the track I'll take a look at the car and see if it is gutted or not.
Damn now I have to get an ARE 422 LS1 with a direct port kit to beat him

Re: World's fastest street Supra?
Both cars are impressive for sure... that mph is just insane. The 6-speed in the car is stock, not a aftermarket tranny, and the driveshaft is ~$1500. The shortblock is completely stock also, and the car is gutted. The auto car is more impressive to me also, even tho he is using nitrous... but having full interior/stereo/ect is very cool. Too bad the auto car got DQ'd because of having a 10.00 rollbar.

Big boost + any motor = fast
As long as they'll hold together. There's some guy out there with a K-car running low 10s and looking for 9s this year. The motor has a stock bottom end.

A 9 second K car..
Now that's impressive! I think saw the one you're talking about. He was running low 10's at Cecil.
I just have to ask 1 question. Why?

Re: World's fastest street Supra?
I saw a fast Supra last Friday at Pacific Raceways(SIR) He was really fast untill he went to the left, then cut back to the right at a 90 deg angle, and hit the wall at about 120 mph. He moved 6 jersy barriers 6 ft. Luckily his air bags deployed and he lived, minus his $50K+ car.

Re: World's fastest street Supra?
From what I have heard Titan payed close to 5G's for the clutch setup. They have over $1000 in hose clamps alone. The guy that drives the car is their head mechanic. his name is Mark. he had a right hand drive Silvia he was able to get into the states through the military. The car is gutted. The car spins the tires through first hits second and takes off like a jet.
It is a bad *** car to see run.

Re: World's fastest street Supra?
Thanks Richie for the gracious comments.
The car uses a Tilton Tripple Carbon Clutch with a stock tranny and a $1500 ACPT Carbon Fiber Driveshaft.
The car can on occasion be seen on the streets but its mainly built to be a drag car now. The DVD got tossed as well as a few other things because there's no room in the car for it. We replaced it with gauges and lots of other gizmo's.
The car will still go faster, can't wait to meet some of the local FL LS1 guys at the track, its been a long time since we've met up.
