Default Racing tips - PLEASE! - ST3500...

Last time at the track, with BFG DRs, the best I could get was 13.0ish at mid to high 1.9s. The track just sucked. I may begoing back tommorrow, so do you have any suggestions?
IE - psi, launching, waterbox, RPMs, etc...
I should really be sing 12.6xx, but I'm not. And I should really be seeing 1.6s and I'm not. Others have major problems hooking with this track too, but it's close.
Thanks
Nick

I would run the tire pressure at 20 PSI. When you launch, roll into the throttle rather than slamming it to the floor.

Honestly you would be better off with some 26" x 11.5" ET Streets or slicks with the ST-3500. Tires are the difference here, and you will never be able to take advantage of the full capability of the ST-3500 with drag radials.

I heat them up, tried everything from 22 to 16 psi, and I don't recall ever stomping on it. Over here in IL, plent of people have used BFGs with yanks and vigs and cut 1.6s.
I'm just making sure I'm not missing a beat.

I get into 2nd on my burnout and get a good amount of smoke. Brake it to 3000rpm at the line and let her fly.

If you can't get the BFG's to hook, get some ET streets.

I pulled a 1.77 and spun a good 20ft. Then I learned to get 2nd on my burnout to get them real hot. BINGO....1.59 60ft

I'm wishing I had went with 11.5" ET streets with this ST3500. I even spun a hair on the 1.59. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

Try adjustable Hal shocks front and rear. Vary air settings on your tires from 12 to 20. Make sure you have a good burnout, the suggestion earlier of a burnout in second is excellent. Try different RPM launches on your car. I have had these problems on my car. When I first got my 3200 vig. I had traction problems--solution--Hal shocks front and back with front Hal drag springs--took a little while to learn settings. After H/C install, I had traction problems again. I was using the same launching technique with prior setup. Solution, Hals set much higher in back and I switch to M T slicks size 15.10.26 with air pressure set at 16 D R and 15 P R. I hope my experience helps you out. Kent.

I think I just have to buy a 12 bolt and get some ETs...haha.
Yeah, I'm gonna try a different track (US41) and hopefully it'll work better than GLD b/c I've tried everything everyone has been suggesting - even burnouts in 2nd!
When I'm at a track that hooks, maybe I'll have better luck.
Thanks for the ideas though.
Nick
