How much bigger is the actual lid itself??

I've seen pictures, but haven't seen any in person yet...

By surface area of the filter its around 30% bigger, from the pictures I've seen.

It actually uses a ZR1 corvette filter, and not a bit of it is blocked, the lid moves the Maf towards the TB and leaves about a 1 1/2" gap, the opening in the front is about 2 1/4" and of course the base allready has the FRA incorparated which is the same size as the filter.

That would look really great if it was painted to match the car. I wouldn't mind having one but the black doesn't look too inticing to me. Paint it and make it look goood.

I think 95% of us prefer black. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

True. But to me it looks like the plastic isn't very clean looking or made to look good. Maybe spray some black on it so give it a shine or something. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

Do you think it will really show a difference though? People dyno with the airbox off, with a 3 inch extension, with the filter out and always dyno within 1-3RWHP. I dont know how much it will really help...

It might show a difference at the track. Unlike the FIPK this looks like more flow with no side effects!

Why not just make one out of sheetmetal? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

I remember seeing Steve H.'s sheetmetal airbox and it was sweet.

I went ahead and ordered one. It looks kind of neat. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Terry, let us know how you like it once you get it installed and do some testing...

It does look somewhat interesting.

I think it might give a little more power with the airfilter in versus a whisper or equiv lid with the airfilter in.
I ran almost 123mph through an A4 with the whisper and airfilter in. and almost identical mph with the AF out.
I am very curious to see the dyno differences from a whisper lid setup.
I think it is a great idea but I would need to see a direct comparision flobench and dyno wise between this new setup and the whisper.
Cheers,
Chris
