All dressed up and no where to go!!!
It's raining!!!!
I've been tinkering with the car for a few weeks working the bugs out of the cam change.
260 @ .050 and 650 lift creats a lot of tuning problems with the PCM. Mainly there's not enough vacume to keep the map sensor happy which in turn causes low timing at idle and a rich condition all across the rpm range except at wot which is ok. I'm getting there but there's still work to be done in the part throttle drivability department.
. I've been doing some testing on a new clutch disk and just removed it to send it back to RAM for inspection. I installed a sintered iron set-up and see if works any better than the bronze button disc. The bronze disc was good for mid 1.40's and did a good job as long a you gave it time to cool between rounds
Also installed another nozzle on the nitrous and I'm gonna finally put a good shot in the motor. I'll probably have to go to 5th gear at a 1000ft with the gear I'm running but it will make for an interesting ride.
Put one of Harlens two-steps on and and got everything going so we'll just have to see what happens.
I need to ride around a while today and break a new gear in but it's raining.... Oh well I can always break it on the way to Panama City wednesday. A 600mi trip should be sufficient.

Joe,
I hope you get that bad boy out soon. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
Iam sitting here watching the weather. It will determine were we go to day and tomorrow to race the Hot Rod. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" />
What gear are you using now? I have 4.56's and we will see what we cross the finish line at to see if we are going to make a gear change. I want that 10 second time slip pretty bad. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />
On that long drive you are going to make. I drove my Hot Rod 512 miles to Oklahoma and got 24 mpg. No problems at all. LOL on the drive.
Good luck to ya. I hope it stops raining for ya. <img border="0" alt="[angel]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_angel.gif" />

Re: All dressed up and no where to go!!!
Coach I go thru the lights about 7100 with 4.56's and 28 inch Hoosiers at 124.xx but with the cam change that'll go up and with the juice I'll have to go to 5th.
Coach you know you can't drive a "solid roller race motor" on a 300 hundred mile trip. LOL

Re: All dressed up and no where to go!!!
Coach Geoff told me you live in Killeen.... I spent a couple of years on the Fort Hood Drag Team in 1973-1974.... I made some good friends there.
I'm going to take my car to ThunderRacing some time soon for some dyno work and try to work out the part throttle drivability problem.
When I do maybe you can come down and we can all go to the track.

Joe, how's my two-step working? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
Tim, we'll all be legal real soon. Justin has a cage going in in a week or so and mine is on order. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" />

Joe: Sounds great to me. Just let me know when. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />
Justin: Is there going to be a Money Bracket Race on the 3rd of Aug. at Eunice. <img border="0" alt="[angel]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_angel.gif" />
Jason: Race Car! I like it. <img border="0" alt="[devil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" />
95 Formula: I don't think that I have met you. But, anybody that races with the bunch from Thunder Racing is alright with me. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
Just got back from the track. Very nice looking track, can't wait to run there. Damn rain, no racing tonight. Rain check is good any weekend that I want to use it. Thats Cool. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />
I will try tomorrow at TAD. 50% chance of rain for tomorrow. I will be praying to the Racing Gods tonight. <img border="0" alt="[hail]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_hail.gif" />
Later,
Coach
