Default A win with "The Other Car"!!!!!

We took the Mustang to a 10 1/2 inch tire shootout and had a great time. All the hard work is starting to pay off. We qualified #2 with a 5.39 @ 133.23 with the #1 qualifier at a 5.37.

It came down between us and the #1 qualifier. Jeff won with a .405 light against his .520. On the last pass the car ran it's best pass of the night... 5.37 @ 134.40 1.27 60 ft.... It spun a little due to the track starting to go away and it's time for a new set of tires but the MPH kicked ***!!!! We're starting to make a little horsepower!!!!!!

excellent Joe! I bet he had close to a car on the other guy just in RT. Y'all are definitely starting to make some HP. You and Jeff need to bring the car to Kennedale. You could get a few money races out there on a Friday night.

Actually Larry it was doing 1.21's and 1.22's most of the night but on the last run the track just went away. We order a set of 33x10.5w's today for a big outlaw race Wednesday night....
That should help.

John and I got there just in time for the final round, Joe. What an obvious holeshot! Tell Jeff great job I guess we missed you The SS picked up .8 from the longtubes, y-pipe, and little TCI converter. We should have the big converter ready for Wednesday night and hope to run some 7.80s or so.

Warren- You think Joe is telling on his age, calling Lassiter Mountain "Birmingham Dragway"??

Yeah, but the sad thing is, i knew what he was talking about.. hehe...

It's been there, what, about 50 or so years??

Can't believe they used to run 1/4's there.. Or at least that is what i was told...

Congrats on the SS, Kristi.. Great times for such little in upgrades.. Sounds like it'll be running on the motor what the other car did on spray.. Gotta love that.

I have a National Dragster from the very early 60's with NHRA national event coverage (1/4 mi!!) from "Birmingham Dragway"... the 5-amber tree hung down over the starting line rather than being mounted on the track and my dad was working the starting line!! Pretty cool, but kind of sad how far removed Lassiter Mountain is from its glory days. Now you have to lock your car in the pits when you walk away from it

John and I will be there about 8:30 after church Wednesday night. We're installing the converter tonight

That should pick it up some more. Maybe 136+ and into the 5.20's.
