Default H & C car: How much loss from short shifting at the track?

Well I am trying to quantify my times on my heads and cam swap. I have not tuned the car yet so I am really shifting it short at 5800. I have LS6 heads with basically a stage 2 setup, 230 .578 114lsa cam, and the matching mods to make the combo work. The car put down 421/400 at the wheels without tuning at 6000 pulling very stong on the top end. I was getting 23-24 degrees of timing on all of my passes. My question is how much ET and trap speed am I losing by short shifting the car at 5800 rather than 6700?

Phillip,

When I short shift my Hot Rod, I lose about 2 to 4 tenths. It just depends on were I shift. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" />

I regularly shift at 6,800 rpms and thinking about going to 7,000 rmp shift points. <img border="0" alt="[devil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" />

What were your times?

Good luck to ya. <img border="0" alt="[angel]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_angel.gif" />
