Default Top 25 Fastest Stock Block 4th Gen F-Bodies

OK, OK, its been really slow at work the last couple days. Did some huntin, found out most all the info I could to get 80% of this thing filled out....
It is still missing the Chevrolet Backed LS1 Drag Car that I know of, among others that I don't know of. I actually found several cars that I didn't know existed. Also some Info may need clarified, etc.

Only Qualifyer for the list is a Factory LTx or LSx Based Block, Luckily for some LS guys they can step up to the C5R... Must be nice. Suspension doesn't matter, don't have to be a member of any Bulletin Board or know any Secret Hand shakes. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Its basically a 9 second list (Hopefully 8s soon), however guys in the 10.dohs, and maybe 10.teens can squeek in (for now).

Have a look see, and let me know if you or someone you know should be on there! Also please let me know any corrections or additional info on the cars that are already there!

Now to get in the shop and get my name up there!

148 MPH out of a NA C5R amazes me! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> Any idea on the weight, RPM, or HP of that car?

Car supposedly built at LPE, Being Minitubbed, etc. I just guessed on the trans type....... Definetly one of the more impressive cars.... If its actually true LOL.

its an LPE car and all i know is that it has 30" slicks and a 3spd.

Looks good Kurtis. You should put weight on there. It would really show how much power George is putting out. Also, the SAM car (Judson's) is a 99 SS.

Updated!

Stephen, As I see it, if the C5R heads flow as well as I'm hearing they can I see no reason why a properly built car couldn't do even more. Take a look at NMCA Hot Street, with cars running well into the 8s, w/ NA Small Blocks and heads that probably don't flow the kind of numbers I've read on this board for a fully ported C5R head......

I don't know much about the NMCA Hot Street class but I do know that it takes a helluva lot of power to go 148 even with a featherlight car.

Just to clarify, I didn't mean to suggest that I don't believe it. I'd just like to know more about the combo. <img border="0" alt="[Burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" />

148 MPH has 8 second potential! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

Interesting Spreadsheet. I am pretty positive that there will be no 10second cars on that list very shortly.

I know of three more cars that should be on that list from ARE, you can add these cars as well and all can be verified.

Wade Stevens 99 C5 422/NOS A4 - 9.25 @ 155
Tom Hall 97 C5 422/NOS A4 - 9.76 @ 147
Sonny Kirkpatrick - 98 TA/WS6 427/NOS TH400 - 9.80 @ 142

Including these three cars that will put 8 ARE built cars on the top 25 list, not bad at all.

When Nick finally has the time to put his car together it will also be wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy up the list <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Stephen heres abit more info for ya. Granted these are mostly some All out Race cars, but note the race weights are pretty comparable, putting an LS1 super stroker at ~3400lbs.

Rulebook:
http://nscaracing.com/hs2002-1.html

Qualifying at the last race:
http://nscaracing.com/qual06.html#HS

I think alot of these guys are going with more of a Small Cube/High RPM/Deep Gear Program, rather then the larger motors due to the weight penalty (5.6lbs per ci above 361).

Paul, The list initially is just being built around 4th Gen F-Bodies... though you did bring up another 9 second car <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> Thanx!
