Default Lets talk torque arms.. Need suggestions.

Which one has been proven to produce better 60's? I'm doing the 12 bolt soon, and want to upgrade the TA to something that will def help my 60's. This is a street car too, so, keep that in mind.

I've been looking at the Random Tech one, because it would fit around the true duals I am running, however, I have no problem adjusting the exhaust to fit around the TA. Car is preseltly a high 10 sec car.

Shoot some suggestions my way.

You can look at my Spohn Torque arm setup at the Dream Cruise if you want. I think you'll have to get your x-pipe to either go around it on the left and right sides or through the tunnel.

It can come with an integrated loop on the front and the back. I currently have the front loop on and it saved my car when the driveshaft exploded. The rear loop is going out for powdercoating this week. I should have that on later this month.

I also think there is a model for the low exhausts (which I have) and a model that doesn't go nearly as low. This picture is out of date, the torque arm no longer mounts to the g-load brace like it's shown. Mine has an adjustable tie rod end hooked up to the g-load brace instead. But you can get an idea as to how the g-load brace will be in the way.

Spohn.

For real strong cars, I think it is a good idea to get away from being mounted to the tranny tailshaft.

The Spohn, the BMR extreme, or Madman's torque arm will take big abuse, but some of these are hardcore torque arms. A random tech (I have one for sale now maybe) is a street friendly torque arm, and will take a lot in an auto according to Colonel.

All the same, I too think that as power goes way up, mounting the the torque arm to the tranny becomes less and less of a good idea.

The random tech isn't very strong, I would go with something else if the clearance is there.

I just installed the Spohn race TA and set it at 2-2.5 degrees neg and its quiet believe it or not. I'm not a big believer in a T/A is the full answer for 60fts but do believe that getting it away from the trans mount is a definate for long term abuse especially with alot of power. The best traction aid would be control arms like madman sells. Those seem to be on alot of Stock Eliminators and they work. I bet they are noisy and they require the T/A to just free float. I went with Billingsly solid adjustable lowers, Spohn T/A and BMR rear bar. The car feels much more solid in the rear now and I will test it next weekend with a 100 shot engaged at launch.Getting the twist out of the launch is key.

Mine seems to have no problems holding up to a transbrake and 1.3 60fts after almost 3 years of hard running.

I may break it one day and then I'll look into one from Madman.

Colonel, How do you mount the front, since you run a 350T, right?

I really like my RT. Probably not a necessity for the power I have now... But it will be soon. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
