Re: anyone using the dyna batt battery thunder sells?
I have had one in my car for about 9 months now - though not in the trunk (the long wires could make a difference). It works fine, and has never let me down. HOWEVER - there is very little reserve in the battery. You're fine as long as the car is running...but if you turn the car off, turn off your radio, your lights, your fan if you have it wired direct, etc.
Great mod, IMHO, and an even better mod as an alternative to moving the battery to the rear (for those that haven't done that).

Re: anyone using the dyna batt battery thunder sells?
Before you plunk down $180 for a Dynabatt, do a search on the "Hawker" Batteries. I discovered a while back that a Dynabatt is a Rebadged Hawker. Best part is that the Hawker sells for $69.
BTW...the amount of heavy gauge wire that you would use to relocate the battery, would easily offset any weight savings. IMO, It's better to just leave it in the front.

I disagree on the cable weight when mounting the battery in the trunk. i have the Dynabatt for use at the track, it weighs 12 lbs. on my scale. My Optima yellow weighs 47 lbs. That is 35 lbs. difference.

If I moved it to the back then: The battery box + 1 gauge wire = approx. 10 lbs. Now my net savings is down to 9 lbs. I figure why only save 9 lbs when I can leave it up front and save 19.
BTW...why does the optima weigh so damned much?

I found out about that battery.
Hawker G16EP, the same as Dynobat battery, but much cheaper. For only $20 more, you can get an odyssey (hawker)PC 680 that weighs 24 lbs, but puts out twice as many AH
here's one place that sells them:
http://www.odysseybatteries.com/auto.htm#billet
another:
http://www.thunderstruck-ev.com/batteries.htm
here's where I got info:

The Hawker Odyssey 680 weighs 15.2 lbs. There is also the Odyssey 625 which weighs 13.2 lbs. and has the same ah rating as the 680 along with more cranking amps and that model weighs 13.2lbs. They are a tougher version of the Hawker Genesis EP16.

Re: anyone using the dyna batt battery thunder sells?
I have a hawker, whichever one is exact as the dynebatt. I have not had any problems except my trip meteer etc zeros out like I have a low battery, and this is with a battery tender on it all the time. I only drive mine on weekends but always has tender on it during week. it always drops low enough to reset everything after a few stop-starts in one day. Sometimes its a problem for me because my car has to relearn idle. So far it hasn't been bad enough for me to take out though. I did buy the thunder mounting bracket, I think its worth it.

So I bought the TR terminals.
