McLeod is suppsed to have a scatter shield soon

Luckily I haven't been called on it yet but I know its bound to happen I'll order one the second it becomes available

You can get a tranny blanket and put that on. Several guys have done so.

I have a tranny blanket at the shop to put in...but I'm seriously skeptical that'll stop much

Screw it and get some Caution Red paint and paint your stock bell housing, they will glance and see the color and never say anything again...We used to do it back in the day when Bell housings were way to expensive for a street cars and they way so much...YUK

What's the rule? 11.99, 10.99. When do you need the approved equipment with a M6?

Have to have SFI 6.1, 6.2, or 6.3 approved tranny sheild, or blanket for 11.99 or quicker.
I have a copy of a GM High Tech Performance, and it lists a blanket be "Werks Engineering" anyone know of this, or where I can find a blanket or any thing?

i am confident a kevlar bellhousing blanket will contain a clutch explosion, otherwise i dont see why SFI would certify it. i was told Werks Performance went out of business a while ago when i tried to contact them. i ended up getting a blanket for mine from Exotic Muscle. fit good and was SFI approved, although it is not LS1 or LT1 specific

i dont remember what ET it is required at, but to me its just a good idea to have one if you are launching hard or spinning high RPMs on a manual tranny. also a must have if you get a Spec clutch

Yes it is in the NHRA rulebook, in the back under the general information, drive train section.
Does anyone have a link, or address for a company that makes these?
