Default Gearing tire size question

Hey

I currently have 3.42 gears and a 26 in tall tire. How much gearing would a 27in tire remove? What would be the affect if traction is the same with both tire hieghts? Would it hurt the 60 ft or mph? My car is a bit under geared as it is.

Thanks

Jeremy

heads / cam / Yank ST 3800 / rear from a m6 car 3.42`s

I made peak power at 6100 but it didnt drop off till 6800. The caris set to shift at 6500 right now and shift extension is 5100

I think the 410`s are a good idea but this rear doesnt make a sound yet so i hate to take it apart.

well then i would leave it alone then, the 4.10s are going to make at least a little noise after you beat on them for the first time. But if you can handle it i would step up to a 4200+ stall converter and the 4.10 gears with a 27 or 28" tire. That would be fun
I would love to get my hands on some of the new MT DR's 27" or 28" tall. If I could hook, it should get me some killer times.

U should run the 26in ET Street...
3.42 is small for anything over 26in....

U might wanna try the new 275/50/15 M/T Drag Radial
Its 26 but wont grow and it'll hook like mad...
