My original goal was to do it w/stock internals, but I just couldn't wait to get this cam in (Comp 222/222 .563/112).

My best w/stock internals is 12.15 @ 112.25 (1.61) in +9xx DA. With some better air I think I would have gotten there, oh well.

Here yesterday's passes in -638 DA, hitting the rev limiter on the 1-2 shift lifting and getting back into it...

12.000 @ 114.18 (1.65) soft launch DOH
12.000 @ 115.45 (1.73) spun DOH again!
11.926 @ 115.38 (1.63) got it
11.937 @ 115.08 (1.63)
11.921 @ 114.85 (1.60)
12.023 @ 115.39 (1.75) spun
11.834 @ 115.76 (1.59) new best 60ft and ET

At that point I figured that was enough bouncing off the rev limiter and I shouldn't push my luck. I think there is another tenth or two in this car once the shift points are corrected. I'm pretty happy

good job! get them shift points figured out and you might have 11.60's with the stock gears.

I'm going to try and be at US41 the next 2 sundays. I tried to get the 19th off, but that wasn't happening. I hope the weather is at least as good as yesterday and maybe better. The past 2 years the best air day occurred on the last weekend in October.

later,
Steve

Steve, thanks and I have 3.73s now (changing sig now). I'll might not make it the 20th because I will be there on the 19th for the MFBA rental. I'll probably be there on the 27th. See ya there

Sean, If I ever use a power adder its gonna be silly sauce but not anytime soon.

Congrats Mark that's some killer mph.

Top/ Steve, interesting comment, best air day of OCT or of the fall?

I'm waiting for Speed Inc. to get their LS1 Edit cable back my car shifts 1-2 funky and we were going to add more fuel on the dyno (but I can cheat with MAF T)

I need to "slick it up" when he gets the cable.

There was a tail wind to help that MPH, and I locked the TC.

Nice times Mark. That cam you have is the same one i have been thinking about. How does it idle for you? Did Speed ink do any custom tuning for it. Maybe ill see you at the track Sat if i can get down there. I installed a Q-tech, and i have a set of HOOKERS, LT in the garage, gonna wait till i stop driving the car for winter too put them on though.

the last two or so weeks of October generally supply the best conditions of the year . November and December can yield some better air days, but overall conditions will not be ideal. 1. less racers come in Nov/Dec and the track does not hook as well and you lose any advantage the better air is giving you. 2. From late Nov to mid April (sometimes later) the winds come into strong effect around here and as far as US41 is concerned it is usually a heavy headwind, as well, you lose advantage of good air.

Plus, I just tend to have good luck in late October.
OCT 24th, 2000: with just a lid and borla I ran 108mph. DA was around -800
OCT 27th, 2001: I ran 11.79@113 with SI. DA was -948
OCT this year: 10's??? we'll see

later,
Steve

EWJ, the idle is pretty good. I was a little afraid of the 112 lca, but the lope sounds mean thru the cutout. I might even turn the idle down a little (more lope ). The car was dyno tuned (361/365), the hp curve looks good it not peaky, just nice and smooth. I makes at least 350hp between 5300 and 6400. Its pretty close to a C1, good cam for stock heads.

98TAauto, when you run in good air you will pick-up, 116 or better. If you can duplicate thoes 1.5 60s maybe 11.50s Good luck

Pris, see ya Saturday
