Default 10 bolt-a-breakin???

For those unfortunate enough to experience the tensile strength/shear strength of the stock 10 bolt with 3.42's, what was your 60' times like before it let loose? I hit a 1.66 on 26x11.5x16 ET Streets Sunday afternoon. Car felt good, very little spinning, no noises or anything, but I don't wanna push it to the oh-f*&ked-er point. Usually post 1.9-2.1 on the GSA's. Any feedback appreciated.

Damn, 1.38, thats nasty. I just don't think that cutting a badazz 60' is worth 2k for a new rear, at least not when I haven't got the $ for it now. Maybe later, but fun, nope. What suspension mods have you done? I am planning for a new torque arm next. tm.

1.65 on the spray in my old A4
1.68 N/A in my old A4
1.70 N/A in the M6

All were with 3.42's in the stock 10-bolt.

P.S. JoSeY, he has an A4 too, bud.

Can I expect to cut better 60's with a new torque arm? What other suspension mods will get better hook up on the track but still provide reasonable street use? Will a Panhard rod help? While on the topic, the QA1/HAL shocks are adjustable and rebuildable right? Are they valved, or adjustable for drag, for the front to have a low rebound rate/high dampening and the rears the opposite to squat in the rear and hold the transfer longer? How is the street manners for these? TIA.

Well, I pulled 2-1.49 60 fts tonight and the wife pulled 4 low low 1.5Xs on the stock 10 bolt 3.23s. So far so good!!! That's behind a ST3500 and hitting Hard. Just go for it. Have fun.

Maybe our track just doesn't hook like those in the mainland!!! At least after hearing from you guys I am not as weary of busting up. I appreciate the input. Thanks Much, tm.
