Stock WS6 is reportedly 40 lbs. I am definately interested in a carbon fiber hood as well if they are priced per what Java posted.

no new information as far as I am concerned, the only thing I was waiting for is pictures. However, you guys can contact Kennt Farrel at Carbon Fiber Industries as they are ready to take your order. I put the info out on this board and left it up to you guys to follow through.

Tom, I'll ask about the SS hood again, last I heard it was 8 weeks until the mold would be ready, but a lot of racers are making their orders now so their work is picking up.

Got the info on the CF Hood for the WS6
Ken at carbon fiber manufacturing told me the weights.

11lbs for the paintable CF version in a pin on.
18lbs on the clear CF version of the pin on.

Wont be ready for 6 to 8 weeks and will be a first come first serve basis.I'm ordering a paintable in 4 weeks.

Ken told me even w/paint it wont be over 13lbs
Thats what I'm going with boys..

This guy is good,he's done some of the quickest CF bodies for guys like Dantoni.I trust his work will be awesome..

I called and got some info on the SS style hoods

CF paintable pin on 8 to 10 lbs $550 to $600 + freight

CF paintable bolt on 20 lbs $900 + - a few bucks plus freight <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> What happened to $745?? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" /> I may have misunderstood? But I don't think so. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />

These were the only hoods I was interested in so that is what I got pricing on.

Kenny said to call in 4 weeks and he will have some solid pricing.

I am still interested in the bold on Paintable CF. I figure the stock SS weighs 55 lbs = or - a pound or 2. Thats 35 lbs savings off the nose plus I will take off the front latch and pin the front down.

I wonder how much the front latch weighs? 5 lbs or so?

Whats the difference in the pin on and bolt on hood? I know a pin on uses 4 hood pics and a bolt on acts liek factory, but like is the bolt on just a pin on with the backets attached? could you use the brackets off your stock hood and put them on a pinon hood?

This extra material used to fabricate the provisions makes it heavier. Yes, you use your stock hardware.

A pin on hood is not fabricated with these provisions. That's what makes it lighter. NO PROVISIONS to bolt on your stock hardware.

well that sucks ... guess fab cost is higher than he thought. I'll call and ask him myself. No affiliatiopn with them just trying to help, if I ever get my shop plans done and built I'll have some spending money to get myself one of these.

Same here Steve,I talked to Ken and he told me 550 to 600+ shipping but that didnt include paint.I guess its alittle bit more than expected but this guy makes quality stuff for very fast cars.I know its gonna be nice once he's done with the molds.I'll paint it myself so that wont be too $$$

Should look bad *** and be under 15lbs w/DZUS clips!
I hope to save 35lbs going to the hood.And another 23 from the carpet,12 for the pass airbag.

80lbs off the car----->WOO HOO!!!!!
Come Feb/March my car will be 3450 or less.
