Default ET Improvement

Do you guys think with the 1/4 time on my sig. below could be a 13.01 withe the mods I have and I cut a better 60 ft. time. Is a 2.00 or 1.90 60ft. time possible with my mods? I only did 2 runs and this was my first time at the track. I know weather conditions make a differance on ET`s but I finished at 108mph. I was impressed with the 108. If you got time let me know what you think.

With a stick car, I'm learning that the launch is EVERYTHING! With that MPH you should be into the 12's. Practice, practice, practice.

People have told me that with the stock tires you don't want to drop the tire pressure, and if you do too big of a burnout the tires will just get greasey (sp?). I'm now dropping the pressure to 25psi and spinning the tires hard enough to smoke them. You have to launch the car with the RPM's kind of high, and feather (ride) the clutch to control wheel-spin. You don't want to have the nose of the car "drop" (bog down), which will happen if you don't have enough RPM. I was also breaking the tires loose shifting into 2nd, so now I'm doing the 1-2 shift at 5,000RPM, and the rest at 6,000.

I have a totally stock HEAVY convertible (and HEAVY driver).

Greg thanks for the launching info. I wanted to know at what RPM`s do you rev your motor off the line? Also when you say feather (ride) the clutch do you actually feather it by pressing in and releasing the clutch or do yo just ride it and let up on it so it hooks up good? Remember I am on GSA`s not F1`s. One more thing, any tips on hitting 3rd gear every time. I got lucky at the track and hit it both times.

Get a new rearend and some tires. Launch that baby as hard as you can and you got a 12 second car no problem. Basically everything after that is practice, practice, practice.

Yep, 12s pretty easily with a sub 2.0 sixty foot. You have plenty of mph. Check sig{clutch was a pissed on that run and sliped quite a bit, tires didn't spin a bit}. BTW, the time in the sig was without the 4.10s or susp. stuff. So or mods were bout the same.
