Default Let's talk about drag suspension/chassis setup

I'm looking for some ideas on a suspension/chassis setup. What I want is something that will be stricly for drag racing, and something (obviously) that will put the power to the pavement. We want to get rid of chassis flex, wheel hop, and weight transfer/distribution problems. I wanna know what some of you guys are running successfully as far as shocks/springs, torque arms, sway bars, chassis items, etc. Lemme hear what works for you. Thanks!

If you want to eliminate chassis flex, first install a cage that ties the front strut towers, front subframe, rear lower control arm mounts and the top of the rear spring perches together. Then get a set of AFCO double adjustable shocks all they way around. Front springs should be in the 275 to 325 lb range depending on the weight of the front. The rear stock springs work really well. Obviously you will need one of my t/a and antiroll bars.
Remember the cage is a safety item BUT building it right also makes it a chassis tuning aid also.

Madman what's better the torque arm or lift/4link type cars? Looking to save as much weight as possible when I do a 2/3spd swap. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

IMHO I think a true 4 link car is the better all around race car. I believe that I can make a T/A car 60 ft and run with a 4 link car but going from track to track the T/A car will need more tuning. This is the whole reason I built this car I have to see the limits of the T/A. Next year I will be running the motor I have now for a few months then hopefully I will have a C5R motor with a turbo so the naysayers will get off my back. Last weekend I ran with some cars with 4 link chassis and the same size tire and my small block with a 250 shot ran better 60 ft times AND out qualified the 4 link cars with 500 shots. So I think Terry you need to stay with the T/A.
