Default 18" Drag Radials!!! sizes within.

Guys...thanks to your overwhelming response to my previous post...and DTDs persistence I am able to proudly tell you that the 18" drag radials are coming, and in many sizes. Thank you all for your posts. They DID make a difference!!!

The new g-Force T/A Drag Radial sizes are as follows:

315/30R18
345/30R18
275/35R18
295/35R18
265/40R18
245/40R18

All these sizes should be available by April 1st.

Please post the size you would be most interested in so I know what to get!

Thought I'd save ya'll some trouble and calculate the tire heights...

315/30R18 = 25.44
345/30R18 = 26.15
275/35R18 = 25.58
295/35R18 = 26.13
265/40R18 = 26.35
245/40R18 = 25.72

And by comparison...

245/50/16 = 25.65
275/40/17 = 25.66
315/35/17 = 25.68

My favorite size would have been a 325/30/18 which would have maintained a near stock height of 25.68 which NONE of the wider tires listed above quite do.

But, since that isn't an option I'd go with the 315/30/18 if and when I move up to an 18" wheel.

The 315s will have to do unless you want to do a mini-tub

They fit w/o a tub and would be perfect for the new BFGs. Since they are making all those other sizes , you can't tell them to throw a 335 into the mix? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

BFG??? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

I thought you were talking about Nittos back then. I was hoping that Nitto would come with 18" drag tires. The BFGs won't last more than 2000 miles while you can run Nitto for 10,000-15,000 miles.

Anyway, this is still good news <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Todd, this is a little off topic, yet still ON topic <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> .

How about making a poll on Corvette Forum (as well as here of course) of who would like BFG G-Force KD to come out in 315/18” size.

I can bet you there will be TON of interest!!!!
Perhaps even more than in these drag radials.

BFG G-Force KD is the best dry handling street tire.
Unfortunately, the biggest 18” size they make is only 295/35/18 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />
That’s disappointing. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />

Furthermore, 315s is the biggest tire that fits C5s with any tubbing or sticking out
(335s on 11.5” rim DO stick out ~0.5” w/o tubbing)
I’m pretty sure 315s fit F-Bodies too w/o any tubbing mods.

315/35/18” would be a PERFECT tire to upgrade to for lots and lots of C5 as well as F-Body owners.
It would match with 275/35/18 or 285/35/18 G-Force KDs for the front beautifully too. <img border="0" alt="[hail]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_hail.gif" />

Please let me know what you think of this.

Should I buy now or wait <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Todd,

Im in for a set of 325s if you make them, and a buddy who is not on the net is in for a set of 295s. What tread pattern are we looking at here? I know that BFG has 2 different patterns and I was curious what pattern, if it was either of those.

The Nitto DR is a far better looking tire, IMO.
