Default I want 1/8 mile times down..... read on

I ran my car last night and I just couldn't get it to do what I wanted it to do. I can't get it out of the 8.6-8.7 range. My BEST was a 8.64. I have seen a couple Camaro's go like 8.40's and a good freind of mine has an SS that ran a 8.20 with my lid and maf, and gutted cats with some weight reduction. My car is running just about as hard as their cars(last night it was in the 105 mph ranger when theirs only run like 106 and if their lucky a 107). To my supprise the car didn't spin but just a bit... just a little tire chirp and thats about it(besides it lightening em up in second )

I'm not sure if it would help but putting a y-pipe might help out a little shouldn't it. Or would it work better on the big end? maybe a pulley?

Josh S.

Oh! I got a new best MPH the pass was a 13.30 @ 105.459(or something like that) It wasnt the fastest time but I'm gunna try some drag radials, weight reduction and put the HPPIII on the car.

1/8 mile depends mostly on 60 foot times, there isnt much room to make up for a bad one no matter how much pwer you are making I normally run 7.80s on drag radials (1.72x 60s) at the local 1/8 mile track, best on crappy runflats is an 8.35 with a 2.15 60' Big difference there Get some better tires and a converter and you will be there

The 60' times were in the 2.0's. The car has been a 1.9 before but it was a HIGH 1.9(like a 1.96) and it was on drag radials at the time.

There aren't any mods that I can get my 1/8 times down with? I plan on running a converter, headers, or gears?
