MORE PICS the welding begins tommorow on the 12 point cage
The cage is ready for the TIG welding. The side bars need lowered a bit and it's ready to weld. The 12th points through the firewall are in a great location.
I'll paint the cage Sunday or Monday. I'll re-install the dash early next week.
The pics are in the web page. Enjoy

Looking great Tom It won't be long now. It is definitely the time to get that booster out of there You will be glad you did it now. The dash does not go in and out any easier with the cage installed.

Re: MORE PICS the welding begins tommorow on the 12 point cage
Well Tom, I see that your dash bar is much higher than I had expected so my idea of the strut bars coming toward the middle behind the engine would not work. I thought it was gonna be an UNDER dash bar . Oh well.
Love the rest of it, and I can't wait to see how you tie in the strut towers .

Tom, I should be in the area in the next week or so. I will stop in for sure...
Terry, I ordered a Chromoly cage today...My new heads and cam should get me into the low 11's. Heads, cam and cage should be here in time for Christmas... Did your motor get here yet???

thanks Guido
Thanks Dave, your right about the dash man. It's a KILLER to remove. I ordered the brake kit from MADMAN. BTW, we removed another 12 lbs from under the dash. That big black bracket (6lbs) that held the passinger side air bag in place and the remainder of the duct work (6lbs) that was not attached to the heater core. The dash now weighs 21 lbs. Time for the SAW ZAW
Thanks Terry. What K/frame are you using? Are you doing A/arms too? I have the PA racing K/frame and A/arms. I still have the stock PS rack. Good luck with your new set up Terry. Sounds like it's going to be REAL FAST man.
LT1C3 thanks
1CAMWNDR looks that way. Did you see where Rodney tied the 12th points to the frame? Rodney is going to tie the STRUTS in off of these bars at a later date. It's all figured out now.
Mark, Definately stop up for sure. Rodney is now relocating my seats. He is removing the stock brackets (I didn't weight them yet but they are heavy) and installing custom brackets. The seats will be located almost 12" back from the stock location. Man is is comphy way back there. My legs barely bend at the knees. We designed the cage so we could do this. It's awesome.
Steve, good to here from you buddy. YES YES YES I can alway's use some help. I lost my cell phone again with all the stored phone numbers. I'll e-mail you mine. You e-mail me yours. Thanks again buddy.
Thanks everyone This sure is a fun project but I can't wait till it is all over with.

Looks great Tom! Well actually it looks like a fuggin mess, but it's going to look great when it's done If you get a chance, snap a pic of that summit heater and how you mounted it..

I LOVE the driver's seat relocation idea . If I didn't have a baby on the way(and hence need to use the rear seat sometimes)I'd remove my rear seats again and ask for this same thing to be done!!!
Simply awesome. Be sure to let us see what it looks like when it is finished.
