New Bogart racing style rims available
Bogart has now come out with two new styles available as bolt on drag rims for LS1 and LT1 cars.
New styles added to the previously available 9 P1 series rims are the new embossed "SS" style rims and the new D6 rim. I am extremely excited about the new styles available as I feel these are the best suited drag rims for our cars!
It is nice to see a company whom finally recognizes our needs and gives us many choices.

You can view them on my site near the bottom of the page (may take some time to load) for pics or can be viewed directly on Bogarts site.
I guess I started a trend of dealers jumping on the bandwagon :-). Mikey, I'll call you in the AM, I have few ideas I want to discuss with you.
They are the best rims out there for sure, that's why I initiated the design and sales of them for all F-bodies. There really is no substitute.

Re: New Bogart racing style rims available
Guys,
Keep in mind the latter two items are in the P2 series and is not a direct fit rim as the P1 series are.
In addition, keep in mind the P2 series definitly should not be used on the street...
If anyone has any further questions feel free to email or call me for help.

Re: New Bogart racing style rims available
Looking at your site, I see it said that no spacers are needed, does that include the 15". I am looking at getting the Drag-On 2, 15x4 and 15x9.75, what lugs do these use? Suitable for limited street use, to and from the track per sae?

Re: New Bogart racing style rims available
I personally recommend Mcgard lugs.
As with any drag rim, care must be taken with street driving. To date since the first set that Bogart sold of which I helped design for both LT1 and LS1 cars, of ALL the sets that I personally sold; no one that I'm aware of has had problems with a rim bending from street use.
You do have to be just as careful as if you were using welds, centerline or any other drag rim. Can you bend them, sure you can! Mine, as well a few other guys use them almost 100% of the time on the street and the strip without problems.
Regarding spacers needed, I aided in the design specifically for use using 15 inch rims!! My goal was to have a rim that is plug and play, to eliminate the use of seperate spacers, utilizing shorter studs needed to pass tech while coming in with a lighter and more versatile drag rim which would be available in many styles. Bogart rims were the ONLY logical choice to me. I have been lucky to work with such a great company whom puts out a fantastic product.
I personally tested them on LT1 and LS1's with a tester set making adjustments as needed. This was done to be certain they were made with the correct working measurements...theory is nice but practical applications are the real tests.
Due to variance tolerances of stock calipers rotors, and pads, essentially 98% of the guys were a direct fitment no grinding needed, just bolt on and go (P1 series)! The other 2%, due to tolerance differences had VERY MINOR touch up's in a few spots in which took a few minutes to clean up a caliper or two i.e. the flashing from production or a little spot that just BARELY touched. There was only one person out of EVERY rim produced and sold through me whom had problems with fitment. He was to get back to me upon what exactly was occurring but has been busy. From my understanding thus far he was using aftermarket pads and rotors. Since they don't have the same tolorance as stock components this probably was the problem. I am only guessing at this point though.
Pertaining 16's, they are easy to fit for just about any rim manufacture.
I hope I have answered all your questions and concerns. Feel free to shoot me an email if you have further questions that you need addressed.

Re: New Bogart racing style rims available
Is Bogart making anything for the C5 corvettes? I have the CCW wheel package now, with the skinnies up front, and Hoosier slicks out back, but I hate the look of the CCW's!

Re: New Bogart racing style rims available
George,
Thanks for the kind words!! Glad we could help you out!
Kwik8,
Since the C5's have such large rotors, the fronts are almost impossible to work with using a 15 inch rim. Rears by themselves offhand have been made in a 15 using the stock acorn lugs.
The best bet would probably going to a 16 inch rim to get them to fit if you wanted fronts also.

Re: New Bogart racing style rims available
I got the first set of Bogarts through Steve. That's my car on his web site. Steve is a great guy to do business with and I highly recommend him. My wheels have held up great. Drive them to the track and on the street. Pictures do not do these wheels justice. I get compliments on them all the time. Did I mention no grinding or spacers with a 15x9.75 rear wheel. The stock wheel studs come flush with the outside of the rim so there is no need to change the studs. You get what you pay for. Doesn't hurt that they are a little more than 10 lbs. lighter than a comparable set of welds.

What is the weight of the Force 5 Bogarts, 15x3.5 (or 4) and 15x9.75 (or 10) for an LS1-F car? I need more than approximate weights, please, to help finalize my decision on whether or not I'll change from my ProStars. I do know the Force 5 are not friendly with the stock LS1 brakes. Thanks.

Re: New Bogart racing style rims available
Bruce,
Thanks for the compliments!!
You have the VERY first production set of D10's specifically made for an LS1 car. Actually, you have the VERY first set of ANY production bogart rim specifically designed for an LS1. You need to add that to your sig :-)
Ruquickr,
I hesitate to give exact numbers as I hate to be pinpointed for being off by a small number. Keep in mind some styles may be a few ounces different in addition to welding material may change the weight.
Essentially though if you have a plain force 5, each wheel will be 6.75 lbs.
Using a plain force 5 rear 10 inch would be 8.5 lbs.
Don't hold me to these weights though if they are .25 lbs off please. changes in backspacing effects the overall weight as different sections must be used when building these.
There are a few things to look out for when considering these rims for all others reading this. First off, Bogart recommends your race weight being not too much greater then 3200lbs espcially if your doing huge wheel stands.
Second, aftermarket calipers and rotors are necessary ie mark williams etc to make these work well.
Finally, these are definitly a race only rim and should not be used on the street at all.
Hope this information helps!
