Default 27x11.5 QTP's VS 26x11.5 MT

What are the differences with these tires? Will the taller tire effect the gear? Will it not hook as good as the 26" tire?

reason for asking is that the QTP recommends a 8-10" rim and the ET street recommends a 10" only.

Would the taller tire not bulge as much but still give you the same contact patch?

BTW, I am running a 6spd with 12 bolt and 4.11 gear.

Any thought and opinions are appreciated. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

The taller tire is going to affect your gear some. I personally would run the et street. I don't think the contact patch would be different(with the same size tire) but with the taller tire it might have a slight bigger contact patch if you matched them both with a 10 inch wheel. I beleive the et is suggested for a 10 to get the best contact patch.

Ya might wanna try this in the drivetrain section. You would probably get more replies.

You can run the ET's on the factory rims with no problems, damn near everyone I know runs like that. Screw the beads for the lower tire pressure. I have heard the QTP's hook better, am interested myself to find out.

andy, stick with the et streets, the 27's are not good for motor unless you get more gear like moose.

26x11.5 is what you need!

I am running the 27x11.5x15 QTP's, I had to grind away the bump stop on the fender wall to clear the width of the tire...its all well worth it though, I still need to fix the problem of the top of the wheel well slicing into the tire...

I am running those w/3.73's...

Just because I'm gonna be cracking him w/ a little ol' 5.0 soon, he thinks I'm out to sabotage his efforts to go fast. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
