A 15X10 with at LEAST a 27 inch tall tire with those gears and that TC.

Mike said so...You have no use for 26's JC.

15x8'S AND 26x10 15 E/T Drags will get you to cross the line near that rpm.

IMO you have no need for heavy 15X10's, nor do you need the tire height of a 27 inch tire.

With a tp4400, 4.10's, and 26X10 15's I crossed the traps right around 6500-6600 when running 121+ mph.

I'd say 15x8's and 26x10.5x15 ET Streets. Its the shortest 26" tire that I could find at 25.8". And thats exactly what you need with 3.73's. Even with the tire I suggested, it might not hit 6400rpms through the traps.

later,
Steve

So 26x10 Hoosiers on a 15x8 rim will work for me?

Will a 15x8 rim fit a true 10" wide tire?

or what size do you need to get a 10" tire on there?

A hard hitting TC and 3.73s is why i recommended a 27" tire.

My car with the 9" and 3.50 gears 60 footed the same on 28X10's as it did on 26X10's.

But on bottle you tell me how the car reacted??

You dont have to run the 10" rim but i still suggest the 27 tire. Dead hooking is where its at!

I strongly recommend that you go with 15" x 10" Welds instead of 15" x 8" if using a 26" x 10.0" x 15" slick. You'll get a much flatter tire tread surface with the 15" x 10" as opposed to a bowed surface with a 15" x 8".

The tire fits the 10" wide wheel better. An 8" wheel is too narrow for that size slick.

How nicly do 15x8 Weld Draglites on a 5.5 BS tuck under the fenders. Do they stick out or do the tuck up in to the fender wells nicly? And since a couple of you are saying that 10" is too wide, what width do you recommend?

With tires like ET Streets, drags, QTP's etc etc Running a up to a 10.5" tire on 8" wheels is fine unlike a radial tire you do not get tread cupping due to the more flexable sidewalls Youll be fine with an 8" wheel - and it will be lighter than a 10" wheel

My car, with the 10.5 Et Streets, and the 10" Et Drag's, shifts into 4th gear, just before I cross the line. Rev limiter is set at 6600. Every car id different. I suggest that you borrow someones tires & find out what RPM you are at, & buy your tires based on that. Otherwise, it's just a shot in the dark.

For Weld wheels for the F-bodies you need a 4.75" lugnut bolt circle.

15" x 10" wheels need 7.5" backspace

15" x 9" wheels need 6.5" backspace

15" x 8" wheels need 5.5" backspace

BTW, the 15" x 10" wheels fit tuck under the wheels wells with no problem. I am running 15" x 10" Pro-Stars with 26" x 10.0" x 15" ET Drags and have zero issues.
