Project SS now has the gas....
The Quest for 9's has started Finally finished the install during the week after hours, and made some preliminary blips on the way home tonight. Much to say,not much traction in 4th gear on drag radials....
Gonna strap it on the dyno next week for tuning and switch to race mode thursday night for some action at the track friday night
The setup is as follows:
-Basic NX Gemini Twin behind MAF
-NX minimax progressive controller
-MSD window switch on-3800,off-7600
-switched back to 4.30 gears
-installing the 1-3\4" to 1-7\8" stepped headers I built for Gordon (GTS-SS)
Going to start with 150 jets and work up to 250 jets.
Also will have some new dyno #'s for the 4.30's,stepped headers and revised sheetmetal intake design ! 475 rwhp previous with 4.56 gears and grott 1-3\4" headers.
Wish me luck

Sweet Allan, glad to see you got the kit completely hooked up. Can I drive it again now?

I don't think your quest for 9s will last very long. Even with the 150shot you should have it in the bag. Can't wait to here some dyno/track numbers!

I figure the 150 hp jets will squeak it into the 9's then progress to the 250 hp jets for some good 9's.

Sounds great Alan...haven't had a chance to dyno mine yet with the F3 and TEA heads, but it feels awesome with the 6-speed in the car now.
And yesterday I placed the order for my NX EFI Direct Port kit I am putting the finishing touches on my Holley aluminum intake before the NX kit arrives. Hoping for 430 on the motor with stock bottom end, and quite a bit more with the DP fogger
Wish I could make that Southern Shootout...looks like lots of fun, but just too darn far for me.

It was just a natural instinct to shift before 7k. I'm not used to having a car that revs so easily. It's a whole new world past 7k.

Re: Project SS now has the gas....
Justin- I just have a 255 in-tank for now,I want to see how much just the pump can support. Also added a fuel pressure gauge.
Todd- glad you are liking the cam, 430 should be no problem with your setup, plus a DP kit

Re: Project SS now has the gas....
Allen,
Did you get a run in yet on the nitrous? It sould fly. I think you will need more fuel. My concern would be the inital fuel pressure drop and the lean spike that will occure at the 250 level. It might would be ok if you had a progressive controller.
I am waiting on the new NXL DP kit to get shipped in the next couple of weeks. I have a 1 Gallon fuel cell with a low pressure pump to supply the additional fuel. I will be using the digital Maximiser from NX to control a 300hp shot. The 422 I built is broke end now so Its ready. I am using the Holley manifold. I have about 8 hours of work in it. It has made a big difference in mid and upper rpm range.
Good luck with your project.
