Default Help me analyze my track results....28" tires work!

Best pass last night (Saturday) was 11.746 @ 115.32 (1.63).

4.56's w/ 28" x 10.5" x 15" ET Drags is a wild ride compared to 3.42's w/ 26" x 11.5" x 16" ET Streets. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Excuses:

MPH: 9" rear with 4.56 rear gears and 28" tall tires, raceweight 250 lbs. heavier than last time, no underdrive pulley or short belt, and no TB bump stop mod.

60': first time to the track in 8 months, and I was running a drastically different setup than last time, took me 4 passes to learn how to launch right. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

I think with the pulley/short belt back on, a little more practice at launching, and that one little bitty modification to my TB, I can pull down some more 11.50's with MPH up around 117 and 60's in the 1.55 range, assuming we keep this cold, dry air around a while. That would be on the original stock clutch with 25K miles, stock suspension (except front swaybar removal, airbag in right rear, polyurethane bushings in the tranny mount, torque arm bushing, and LCA's), and with full interior.

On another note, I was able to fit some 28" x 10.5" x 15" tires under my car finally with no rubbing. They were on some kind of wheel I'd never seen before. 15 x 8's. We cut a piece off the bumper support right behind the tire and put an airbag in the right rear, and the tires never rubbed. Hopefully we'll have the same kind of luck with the Weld wheels. Question...why would 10"-wide wheels be better than 8"-wide?

And any other comments, suggestions, advice, etc. regarding my track visit will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />
