Default Best 60' on the stock clutch?

I couldn't get the ¼-mile ET list up, so I figgered I'd post up. I wonder what the best 60' anyone's ever gotten out of the stock clutch is. What about on a bolt-on N/A car? My new short-term goal is 1.5's on the original stock clutch.

I managed to get a few 1.63 ~ 1.64 short times and break my stock rear end out of my stock clutch

Oh, right. I knew you'd gone 1.64, but I did not know about any 1.63's. Hmmm. I guess we're tied. Was that before the replacement went in or before? You think I can pull 1.5's outta this 25K-mile clutch? I think I can if I launch a little more agressively than I did. You should have seen the races between me and Tanner. We were almost exactly side-by-side the whole way down the track both times. It was awesome. Of course, I beat him both times. I can't let these Ford guys get out of control. When are you coming to visit us again? Any plans to show off your N2O down here for us any time soon?

That thing never ceases to amaze me. It's really gonna be sad to see it go, if it ever does. I've got 25XXX miles on it. In my amatuer 6-speed drag racing days, it went through a clutch burnout or two, and it's been through all kinds of clutch-torching launches. It got me a 1.95 on 235/55/16 Eagle GA's, a 1.82 on Nitto's, a 1.709 on ET Streets (all on stock gears in the stock rear), and now the 1.635 with the new combo. It saw 2 1.6X 60's and a couple 1.7's Saturday night and it was getting soft at the end of the track, but in no time flat, it was ready for more. Never smelled the famous burning smell or anything. Pretty cool.

Yep, I had one 1.63 60 time on my second stock clutch (same night I went 11.83) The run that I had the 1.63 60' time I had a passenger in the car with me. My ET and MPH were 11.9x at 114.xx I dont remember the times Exactly but I do remember being pissed that I had the extra weight of a passenger on my best 60' of the night.

Once I get my new driveshaft and spool in the car I will be making a trip up to Waco and hopefully running at TAD (on and off spray)

My first thought was-
if you don't smell the clutch,it's probably
working properly.
When I had the stock clutch,it seemed to work
or didn't work(lots of smoke and that infamous
smell )
At a race weight of 3450 (am I correct?)
that seems like a very good 60' time.

My stock clutch would take 'dumps' but hated
'slips'.
Anyway,11.74 is pretty ******' awesome for
that raceweight.

What you just said about the stock clutch taking "dumps," but not "slips" is right on the money. I remember when I first put Nittos on Bernard, I thought I could get out of the hole good by slipping it a little bit, but what I got was a toasted clutch. Now, I have stepped up about 10 notches as far as tires go, and it's holding 5500-RPM dumps. BTW, I always get my best times launching from 5500 instead of 6000 or more. Weird. Thanks for the compliments, Sean. I think it will do 11.50's at this raceweight after I get a few minor things done to it. I'm really looking forward to meeting you and Larry and Bob and everyone at BG!!!

so all you guys running 1.6's and 1.7's on stock clutch, what kind of rear ends and gears are you running? also, what kind of tires? and is that by dropping the clutch or slipping it? just curious, thanx.

I pulled a 1.65 60ft. Bonestock rear, bonestock suspension, bonestock 3.42 gearing. Pretty much bonestock power level.

Oh ya, an IRS to boot

My best so far has been a 1.60. I was shocked when I saw the paper and pissed at the same time. For some dumb reason I hit the gate in 3rd and ended the run.Thats the only time I ever hit a 1.6x.Most of my runs last season with the 4.10's/headers and dr's were in the low 1.7's.I wish I could have duplicated that in the cold cecil air.My clutch is shot now.I am waiting to get my H/C,ram vds 910,lt's on.Shortly after that my 12 bolt will do in after I get my tax return back. Then its project 10's NA
