Default A few progress pics

Just a few pics of the interior. It's not finished yet so it needs tickled a bit to look its best. The car is sooo dirty I don't dare take a pic of the exterior. lol. I just wanted to show some progress.

I'll have pics next week or so of the new BMR torgue arm, new tranny, modified tranny cross member, fabricated tranny cable bracket, new drive shaft, drive shaft loop, etc.

The new engine will be completed soon. Actually any day now. I thought I was going to get a call today but I guess not.

Anyway, enjoy and keep in mind this is not the finished product. Forgive me for my shoddy camara work.

Pics are in my web page.

Lookin' good, Tom!!!

You going to hook up the solenoid on the shifter? I've been thinking about going with a CO2 shifter for mine...

thanks George, Yes I will eventually hook up the solenoid on the shifter.

Thanks Coach

Terry, how is your project comming along? It's going to be fun at PRP this year.

Thanks Abdulla, Yes, I will run open headers most of the time and NO SPRAY EVER. The new engine is built for N/A only.

I went over to Summit last night and picked up the MOROSO switch panel. The one with the circuit breakers. I'll install that baby today OR maybe tomorrow

Hope to see you this season at Cecil. I guess you're pretty much snowed in for a little while anyway.

Thanks Arte and Rob.

Terry, thanks. I would like to but I doubt if I will be ready. That is my busy time of the year at work too. Lots of bidding and selling. I hope to make it to the Northern Shootout though.

Matt, I will definately make a trip or 2 to Cecil this year. I want to try ATCO too. I have never been to ATCO.

Car looks great Tom congrats!!
What carpet do you have in the car? Is that stock carpet or Speed inc carpet?

Chris

ps- Do you have any pics/install hints on your summit heater you used? How much weight do you think you saved removing the airbags, full HVAC system and anything else in there not needed?

Thanks Chris, It is the Speed Inc. carpet and it fit very well. I have the UNCUT version and there was NO cuts anywhere. I made the cut for the parking brake and frugged it up a little but I'll fix it up. The carpet weighed in at 21 lbs with the sound deadning. I removed the sound deadening an it weighed about 3+ lbs. It would be safe to say the carpet now weighs 18 lbs. My previous lighweight carpet weighed 13 lbs but it was not molded like the Speed Inc. is. I like the Speed Inc. carpet better.

I posted a pic of the heater for you on my web page. That pic is as far as I got with the heater so far. It is mounted to the firewall with fabricated 1" X 1/8" aluminum bar brackets "roofing material " right under the center defrost vent opening. I'll hook up the heater hose and switches later. It weighs 6 lbs and the stock heater core and accessories that went thru the firewall weighed 21 lbs.

The air bag bracket was 9 lbs but I removed the air bag itself awhile ago and I don't remember what it weighed. Sorry.

I removed the HVAC system "excluding what went thru the firewall" long ago and I don't remember what it weighed either. Sorry.

Both of those items should be in the weight reduction post.

Good luck

Tom i noticed your T-tops in the pick so i went out weighed 1 of mine . According to my bathroom scale they weigh about 14.5lbs each. Im not sure what can be done to lighten the roof, but im surprised ive never heard of any light weight panels for racing. JFYI
