Dan was at Norwalk for some testing & tuning. There were at least 600 cars in the pits and the staging lanes. I was only able to get in 3 runs all night. Anyway, whenever Dan was ready to make a pass track officials would stop everything for him. That pissed off everyone. I'm not exactly sure what the problem was, but he wasn't able to get past the 1/8 mile mark. He was working out some kinks. Anyway, he tried at least 4 or 5 times and he didn't leave the line a few of them. The crowd was booing and yelling "get that piece of **** off the track". Little did they know that he could've knocked off a world record pass. You should hear that turbo spool up though. It sounds like a gosh damned jet.
I actually have some audio/video of it on my cam (analog). I'll work on getting it posted if you want to check it out.
