Default 13.008 with fairly stock 98 SS

Went to the track for the first time in the SS on Friday.

Ran (3) 13.1's @ 107, then got a 13.008 @ 107.77.

My car is a 98 SS with only:

lid
ftra
loudmouth w/o cats

No tuning, no DR's, as a matter of fact, I was on crappy Cooper Cobras and got 2.08 60fts.

Pretty impressive for a 98 with those simple mods.

Oh yeah, I didn't do any wieght reduction before going to the track.....still had spare/jack....

im going back this wednesday without spare/jack/backseat and seeing if I can get 12's. I know the car has it in her!

I was impressed considering its usually the 00-02's that run lower times, when basically stock.

I'll toot my own horn a little here...Here's the past titles of my 98 SS...

Bone stock: 13.40's @ 107
Lid, pulley, Loudmouth: 12.70's @ 112
Lid, pulley, loudmouth, Macs: 12.30's @ 115

This is with full weight, stock suspension, stock 3:42's, stock clutch, and drag RADIALS. My "slow" 98 would have easily been right at the top of the bolt on list with the rest of the 01-02's with 4:10's and some weight reduction. However i have moved on to bigger and better things since that motor <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
