Default 26x11.5-16 ET Streets on 16x8" wheels

Did a search but came up with nada. Can we run 26x11.50-16 M/T ET Streets on stock 16x8" rims without clearance probs? I`m figuring if anything they might rub the front part of the inside wheel well. Could a small spacer take care of that? Thanks.

they fit perfectly fine, no need for spacer (also they are not good on the studs). 26" tire is nothing for your car. i run 27.3" on a lowered car and nothing rubs. the width is not a concern

i used to run the 26x11.5 et streets on stock wheels a while ago. i had to hammer one small area at the front of the tire where it was rubbing on the inside

I ran em on Salad Shooters which I believe are 16x8" and had no problems on my lowered T/A.

That's what I've run on my car for two years now with no problems.

if you are rubbing on a 26" tire then i bet you are lowered without an adjustable panhard rod and the rear is not centered.

Thanks guys for the info. I have to tell ya I`m at the end of my rope with this tire thing! I just don`t have the cash for a full set of drag rims this season and I`m pretty sure that no drag radial is going to hold this converter. I was going to try some Hoosier 26x9.5-16 QTP`s but they are skinnier than the stock 245/50-16`s and although I know they would hook better, I`m afraid they would get to loose/washy at the big end with the wide radial fronts. And the 26x10.5-16 ET Streets are not much wider than the Hoosiers. So it looks like the 11.5 ET Streets are the way to go but was told by a few people that they woud rub. These life decisions are just to much to bare!

on an 8" wide wheel, it doesnt matter how wide the tire is, you are limited to the wheel for contact patch area. just fyi.

oh and an 8.5-9" wide slicks/et street is gonna hook and not have much of a problem at all on the big end at all. esp with a convertor, you dont need to get real low psi. under 15 psi is when it gets ugly.

I was skeptical of the small tired QTPs also but I ran them a couple times on a 16" wheel and was very suprised that they hooked so well. They didnt feel any different than my 26x11.5 ET Streets on the big end till I popped on 3/4 of the way down the track. Then things got a lil fun but other than that they were a pretty good tire
