Default Tire Size?

Do 28" Tall tires fit without any modifications?

I'm trying to decide between.
BFG DR's
275*60*15 = 28"
or
275*50*15 = 26.1"

Also what size should I use with a 15*4 front wheel?

I was considering

M/T SPORTSMAN FRONT's
26x7.50x15LT 8ply = 26"

Thanks,

You shouldn't have any fitment issues with a 28" BFG drag radial, since they don't grow at high speeds like a slick does...

The front tire you mention would be fine, or you could take the cheap route and just use a 165R/15 radial tire (which would probably be better, since you'd have radials on the rear, also).

Thanks,

Is the 165/R15 the VW tire from Pep Boys?
Is it safe for 110-120 mph 1/4 mile sprints?

Hopefully this won't start up an argument, but I believe they're perfectly fine for 1/4 mile racing. I wouldn't want to run at high speeds for extended periods of time, though.

I had them on my car for quite awhile, but switched to a taller tire (Moroso DS-2 28x4.5).

What size wheel? Are you willing to trim the rear bumper cover? Are you willing to massage the inner fender area? You can fit a big tire if you're willing...

My bad.

I will probably be running a 15x8 or 15x9 Weld drag pro star.

If not that, 16x8 stock camaro wheels.

I don't know about trimming anything, but I can do some massaging. I had to do a little to fit the 315/35/17 tires on it.

Thanks again,
Wes
