Default Pulling the gas tank out.

Do you need to (drop, or take out) your rear end in order to pull out the gas tank?

I removed the tank from my Trans Am recently and I done neither. However I done the job on a lift in our shop. The only thing I had to take loose other than the tank straps, connections, etc. was the bar that bolts from the driverside of the body to where the panhard connects on the passenger side. All I done was remove the 3 bolts on the drivers end and pulled it down against the panhard. And of course you will have to remove the exhaust/heat shields. Just jack the car up and use jackstands under the frame to allow the rear to hang down.

I have a Snap On Hoist in my garage of my house, I'm just to lazy to look. Thanks for the reply's. I will be putting in Speed Inc's fuel system in next week. Anyone had any problems with this project before? Where do I start, the front end or the back end?

I usually just jack mine down with a floor jack... I would pull the tank down first and start there. You installing a new bulkhead?
