Default My New Setup

Well, got the forged 347 coming from APE. Ordered the G5X3 on a 112 today. I'm not screwing around with the comp lifters so I ordered new stockers. oilpump from APE. Ive decided to put in a spool with 4.56s, and ordering new 33spline axles since mine have twisted after hundreds of passes. Ive broke the eaton posi before and I just dont want to screw with it anymore. I think these gears will help with my 3600# raceweight and big cam. Im not changing the raceweight since I drive it daily and like the interior and a/c. I drive on the street with a comp TA so I dont think the spool will bother me as bad as with a sticky tire. The heads are being disassembled cleaned and inspected and well see what they recommend. My h/c package had 44k on it with absolutely no issues at all. Thanks MTI for your badass heads! The motor will be 11:3 . Also going up to 01 injectors. And my T56 has still NEVER been touched with 83k and I swear to god over 1200 passes at the track!!!!! The only thing Ive done is clutches and changed the tranny fluid at 40k and refilled with Dexron III from GM. Realisticly Im hoping to knock a few tenths off with the new set-up so rock bottom 11s will make me happy!!
Paul

Sounds like a great set up brother. Bottom 11's no problem.

You definitely have more passes on your car than any other car I know and with the least problems.
Good luck with the new set up, sounds like it will rock!

It definately treated me well. Its first pass at the track was at 500 miles. Its last pass was at 83k, and I still drove it home. You gotta love a chevy smallblock. They are happiest when its on the mat!!

i give it 10-20 passes before you're kicking yourself for not getting R lifters. i've seen 3 motors in the last month or so take a dump with cams similar to the G5X2 (which i wouldn't have chosen for that setup but it's your setup) because of trashed lifters. good luck...you'll need it.

Hahaha, that's great! Oh and A3 dude, I was told to stay the hell away from R's, that they have nothing but problems, so I ended up goin with the morels, seeing as I don't think the stock lifters would handle my new cam setup!!! The morels came very highly recommended by everyone, and the R's were very highly unrecommended!!!

i was just recomending the R lifters over stock, the morels are actually what are in my solid roller motor. i didn't know that morel made hyd. lifters for these motors. i didn't "demand" you do anything with yoursetup, i just gave my opinion. but what do i know, i only work on late model GM motors all day long. i guess those 300+ cam swaps and all the things i've seen don't mean ****.

Chill out dude. And yeah, I had never even heard about the morels till I started doin research again when it was time to start buildin a motor, seems like they're pretty new and fresh on the market, and in demand, cuz nobody seems to be able to get 'em and keep 'em in, they go as soon as they come in and they come in slowly! And yeah, they do make 'em for these motors in hydraulic, cuz that's what I got, a huge *** hydraulic nitrous cam from FMS!

Your little comment about you wouldnt have gotten the G5X3 with my set-up told me you dont know much. We test our setups at the track, and my combo of choice has performed awesomely. I dont care how many oil changes you have done.

Paul
