I'd get a GM manual so you know what to cut and what to keep. It's a boring task, but hopefully worth it.

wires.......what wires. you take all of the harness out and run the few wires you need. it takes time, but you save a ton of weight and it looks clean.

I pulled everything out, and ran a painless Prostreet 12 circuit kit, but I am also running a aftermarket computer, so I dont know what the stock computer would still need under the dash
