rim screws with M/T Drag/Street Radials???
hey guys....
i've done a couple searches but nothing is turning up. i spoke with Summit yesterday and they told me you can use rim screws with the new m/t radials and recommend it to those making any kind of power where it would be necessary on a slick. has anyone seen them used in this combination yet? my rims have already been screwed when they had slicks on them and now look kinda funky with the holes there so i would prefer to use them if it's possible. also, they said there is still no need for a tube even with the screws because they don't go all the way through the sidewall.
thanks,
Dave

That doesnt sound to far fetched, figure if the tire spins on the rim you screw it. And if the potential is there to spin it rather have the tires screwed then me from a sideways launch. Havent used the MTs but did screw the Nittos once to check it out and there were no issues, other than looking a lil funny.

My old BFG's used to turn on the rims - actually turned 8" one time! Now with the new M/T's, the one turns a little, but the other one doesnt!
Might have to screw them soon.............

screwed them today. posted some pics in the multimedia exchange forum and a link to it in the wheels and tires section too if anyone is interested. only problem i had was 7 of the 32 screws i tried to reuse didn't have enough bite in them to get the job done. now i'll have to get a few to finish the back of the one tire/rim.
