Default Kirkey Seat Sizes - Need help ASAP!!!!!

I just got off the phone with kirkey and they make several widths for their pro drag layback seat. I came up with 15 inches but ordered the 16 inch seat just in case my suit takes up some room. I weigh in at 160 or so and have a 32 inch waist and am about 5'10 or so. I have a day or so to change my order to a 15 inch but I wanted to check with you guys to see what you all have been ordering........

Thanks guys
Conrad

I have about a 40" waist and measure about 17" wide. I bought the 17.5" seat and it is a perfect fit, could have even been a little smaller. If you measure 15 I would get the 15 or 15.5. A little snug is good.

Make sure you get the 20" for the passenger side. Never know what a stroll through a trailer park at night may have you bring home.

I believe it's a 20. I run a 18 and fit comfortably. Remember, if you are going to run 9's you want to make sure that you fit in the seat with the double layer nomex pants. So, get your snow pants out and try the seat on before you find out it's too damn snug. My 18 is loose and comfy in blue jeans. It's pretty tight, not uncomfortable, when I have the fire pants on.

Thanks Derty,

I'm a 38" waist but I'm not sure if I'll fit in a 20" though.

I have a 40" waist. A 17" will likely be comfortable and a 18" will be nice for you. A 17" fits with little work at all. A 18" requires a hammer on a corner of the seat floor brace on both sides if you want to square them up and move them in just a bit. I doubt a 20" will truly fit well.

Are we talking actual waist measurements or just pant sizes? I'm a 36~38 in pants size. Actual measurement is probably over 40" though. I know I'm not as big as Floyd.

Depends on where we're measuring for pants size. I'm a 40 or a 56...take your pick.

I've got an 18 (otherwise known as the X-tra Fat size) and fit perfect. No mods required to the floor. I also moved mine back b/c I'm 6'4 and like to drive my own racecar (I mean street car for the locals in this thread).

I think I'll get the XXL-Fat guy 20" I've sat in a 17" and it was a lil small I doubt I could fit with a fire suit in an 18" Joe the only mods you had to do were drilling holes into quarters instead of buying washers

I replaced those w/ stainless washers. They worked. People always make fun of my cost cutting ways in the methlab. Quarters for washers in a pinch, zip ties to hold a nitrous nozzle in, duct tape to make the nozzle seal when I lost the threaded insert.

Very true....but you can also fit two skinny hot ones in a 20 inch too i'm sure....maybe more if you make them sit on top of each other

Sit down on a piece of paper, take a writin' stick and measure your arseprint, then take a measurin' stick and see how wide you need, add 1.5" for one of dem dere fancee flame suits if you need one.

BTW, anyone who drills out quarters for flatwashers is my hero for the day

I'm only 5'11 and 160 lbs and I got 18's for both pass. and driver in case I ever needed a suspension god or motor expert to make a pass and diagnose the car. If I got the "right" size for me, no one else would be able to fit! I figure I can just add a little padding to the firesuit if I want to fit "snug."

Most stock 5.0s won't last long of a 275 shot. It made for good entertainment, plus, who can forget this classic pic

We were in the fire fighter's ways for that one...notice the car still smoldering.

That's how I did mine. Since I live in So. Illinois, the pronounciation is correct too. Yes, quarters make kick *** flat washers in a pinch. Hell, they even worked in the soda machine @ the shop too.
