Default 28x11.5x15 e/t streets. will it fit on my 15x8 prostars

I currently have my 26x10.5x15 m/t et streets and My friend is trying to sell me his 28x11.5x15 for $200 he only used it 2 races and 6 passes down the track...is it safe to run this size tire on my 15x8 prostars? My original plan was to get them m/t drag radials but this came up... thanks

if they fit they will not be right. the tire will look like a marshmellow on the rim and screw up yoru contact patch and prolly the sidewall flex when you launch it,too.

really should run a 15X10 with that width tire.

Actually they will work OK on a 8" rim IMO, I have 11.5x28x15 on 10" wheels and they are a little small for a 10 inch. If you read the actual measurements from M/T that are not that wide and they are measured on a 8" rim. it would take a 12.5x28x15 ET street to be as big as a 10.5x28 ET drag. There are actually a little narrower then a 10.5x27 ET street but the section width is a little wider.

They are only 27.5" tall so they fit with no cutting from what I can see - but I havent run the car yet. FWIW the sticker on the tire says 8-10" rims are 'approved width' whatever that means

Mickey Thompson looks like they actually recommend an 8" wheel.
