29x10.0 vs 28x10.5W
I'm trying to avoid putting 10.5W's on my car as most of the streetcar races around here involve stock suspension and a maximum width of 10.5 inches (no W's). Anybody ever compared the heights of a 29 inch regular tire vs. a 28 inch 10.5W tire? I'm minitubbing this season to get the tires to tuck and make the car sit right......so I think a 29 x 10.0 Hoosier should fit just fine.
Has anybody ever used this tire and did you have to stretch the fenders any?
Thanks

Cool. Sounds like a good option for me. The thing is that I do not want to stretch the fenders to clear the tires just yet.......I have new plans for this year and I'm not sure that a regular 28x10 tire like I was running last year will work (although last weekend I saw a mustang go 5.40 in the 1/8 on a 26x10.5!). I would like to be somewhere in the 8's this year........

The 28x10.5 MT is one hell of a tire. The mustang guys have gone 7.50's in the 1/4 and 4.90's in the 1/8 on the tire. So it will take what ever you can throw at it.
Also the new 29.5x10.5 Stiff Side wall tire is also very good. Last weekend we went 4.86 & 4.87 at 154mph in the 1/8 on them. We feel it will go 4.70's without any trouble at all.
But, what ever you do i would recommend you stick with the Mickeys

Is that on a 10 inch wide rim? I see a lot of mustang guys running an 11 inch wide wheel (or bigger) with the 10.5 tires.
How well do you think a 29.5x10.5 S would fit with minitubs?

Most of the fast mustang guys use 12's. But many are still using 10's. We always recommend the 12" rim if you can fit it. It gives a little bigger foot print for the starting line and more stability on the big end.
How well it fits will depend on how much you mini tubbed it. The mini tubs we are working on will have the room to fit the 29.5x10.5 tires just fine along with the 315/60/15 drag radials.
