Default What are you guys using for radio delete plates?

I pulled the Mosoon head unit out of my car last fall for my Silverado and I have a feeling that I won't be replacing it. I'm going to rip out the rest of the system tommorow and see how much it weighs.

I need some sort of delete plate that will come close to matching the bezel so it looks factory (don't really want a painted metal plate). Does anybody know where to get an ABS plastic sheet that will match? I checked acouple of online stereo stores but I didn't see much. Any help would be great.

I took the whole think out - radio, heater/ac controls - got a piece of real carbon fiber. Cut to fit. Put in the fuel pressure and water temp guages - an air/fuel wide band guage will join them soon. Looks pretty damn good. No pictures yet - forgot to get them this last weekend.

I went to the local plastic supply store and picked up a 2'x2' sheet of black abs plastic and just cut it to fit. Then I put switches and stuff there too.

Cool, guys they all look great. I did manage to find some radio bezel plastic at an custom audio online store last night but I'm really diggin that carbon fiber now that I see it. I might look around online for a carbon fiber panel too. I put a nitrous pressure gauge in my center vent so it would look good if I replaced the painted metal panel I made with CF too.

Here's a link for the plastic. They have a few different thicknesses. The texture is more coarse than the stock radio bezel but it's all I could find. I havn't looked for any carbon fiber yet. http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...number=265-940 .

I just used a sheet of galvanized steel, cut it to fit, and painted it semi-gloss black and it looks very clean in my opinion.

I used some 1/8" aluminum plate I had laying around.

I mirror polished the AC plate and put a brushed finish on the gauge face.

If you need me to host the pic just email it to me and I'll put it up.

BTW: I got stuck in traffic for 45 minutes because a Jeep Cherokee rolled over and it kinda sucked not having a radio. Almost sucked as much as just about passing out from my exhaust fumes.

FREE. I took the piece of pressboard divider out of the file drawer of my desk at work, cut it to fit, drilled it with a holecutter for my temp and oil guages, painted it Black and mounted it with the original console screws (1986 Coupe)

Here's a pic of the stuff I bought from that link above. Matches pretty damn good. Once it's in the car it should look factory.

GM Muscle, that looks really good. Could you snap some pics of the back to show us how you mounted the plastic? Thanks.
