8 Point Cage Guys, can an 8 point cage be certified to run 8.50s? I very reputable fabricator from another board sais it is and I believe him I'm just curious. I take it it doesn't mount like the jegs 8 point but goes through the dash. Where is the 2 points missing from? Thanks.

As long as it is a ROLL CAGE and not an 8 point ROLL BAR then yes it can be legal to 8.50. NHRA does not specify a minimum point requirment for a roll cage. They give minimum layout/design requirments to be legal. HOw you get the ROLL CAGE to those legal requirments is up to each shop as long as the minimum layout/design requirement is met.
