Default Front bumper support made **PICS**

I have read a ton of people talking about removing the front bumper supports and how would the front end look at respond to having no bracing behind it. Well I removed mine some time ago and this is what I fabed up to support the front end at high speeds. The Stock front end will keep its form ok up to speeds around 100MPH where it starts to really tweak and flatten out. The front nose is removable via dezus fasteners and I also made the center of the radiator support removable (bolts in and out) for easier engine installs/pulls.

Front Brace done with rad support

Front Nose on with rad support out

Just a side shot of the car with the front end on..

I <heart> your car.

When will it go down the track. Wasn't it going to be a BBC combo?

That's freakin' awesome!! Fantastic job! Have you considered mass-producing that?

Great fab job! However, doesn't that weight just about as much as the stock bumper and foam support or close to it?

That's what I was wondering. Did you weigh it before installing it, by any chance?

The car is setup for a BBC and SBC..

It could be made for everyone and more a bolt on setup if there is a demand. It would bolt to the upper radiator support and bolt on to the factory front bumber bracket (the ends of the front sub frame)

If you go to your car, look at all the big braces and brackets that I no longer have in my car, you would see how much weight I removed. I did not weigh the stuff I took out, but the C/M tube was only 15-20# total and it does not have to be as heavy as I made it, I made it big cause in the center of the brace I have a tow point/hook and also the tiedown hoops for the car (used for strapping the car in my trailer) required a larger size tube.

That looks great but it also looks like some weight and alot of work.
I went to home depot bought 3/4" aluminum angle and a pc of aluminum 1/2" flat bar. Took out all the plastic hold ins and replaced with nuts bolts and fender washers for the top. Ran the angle across the two inside holes of where the bumper beam used to bolt, then cut the flat bar up into three lengths that would reach down to the bottom hole of the front clip, bent the bars to fit right under the holes in the front clip, then bolted it with lock nuts and washers. Simple but looks clean and weighs maybe a pound all together. Front end feels solid, Feels like it will hold up to anything short of a force strong enough to rip the plastic front clip itself.
