Talking Custom (locally built) HD torque arm installed (*pics*)

First one...serial number 001

This is a full chromemoly super heavy duty torque arm that even I shouldn't be able to break

Has three different front mount positions and a self-lubricating sliding mechanism

Here are some pics

Trans mount:

Looks excellent! Was about to ask if you were gonna powdercoat it, but then I saw the pics of your exhaust and answered my own question. What does making the arm longer help with?

no...they are fresh tires...those are the molding ridges that are left over.

Most aftermarket arms have a means to slide back and forth at the front joint to prevent bind. This one still has the double adjusters at the back of the arm to set pinion angle and whatnot.

Leave it to an engineer. Looks good Fireball. I hope you and the wife will be in Bowling Green. I enjoy the "Debates" with you.

*NOT an Engineer so be easy on me here*

Wont the slider mechanism bind? Looking at it, it just slides fore and aft in the tube, yet during a launch the torque arm will try climbing, and I would think w/o a pivot, it may bind. Other TA have a pivoting front mount allowing the arm to maintain its length during extension (launch) and retraction (let off/resting position). Not knocking this anyway, just curious is the movement of the TA would be somewhat in radius motion if you will.

you get bind when you don't have a sliding mechanism. its really no different than the linear slider found on stock or stock replacement torque arms (using the stock mount). As the rear moves up and down, it allows the arm to extend/contract to prevent bind. Big thing is that IC doesn't move.
