Default Thinking about getting a trailer

It would be nice to have a trailer to carry my car on vacation and other places. What should I look to pay for one to accomodate cars with low ground clearences? I would really like to have an aluminum one and all that jazz. Definitely an open setup with tandem axles, those are for sure.

I got my open trailer brand new, wood deck, steel ramps, 2 axles, trailer brakes, breakaway setup, lights, etc. for $1800. Maybe that will give you some idea.

Check out the H&H Speedloader MX trailer. I bought mine for around $2k and it's a tilt bed that you can drive a TA or Camaro, Vette, etc right up on. A traditional flat bed trailer with ramps is a MAJOR PITA to get a lowered car on.

yea for my open trailer, I actually had to use wooden ramps to make it easier, and lift the front of the trailer up in the air a bit! I also had to screw some wood to the floor to drive the car onto so I could open my doors w/o hitting the fenders of the trailer!

I'd say the most important option to purchase on an open trailer is a front rock guard. I've had three without them, and now have one with the rock guard and it keeps your car nice and rock chip free, especially on long hauls. I got mine from the Trailerman, a sponsor here.

I have a 18' trailmaster..One of the best pulling trailers I've ever bought..I would get a 18' over a 16' because of the extra room in front of the car for a rock guard like Tony has..I'm having one built right now for mine..
