Default Best times on 17" or larger tires?

Just want to see what people have done. I posted in the 10 second club forum and got no responses.

I had a post like this before and I believe high 10's were the best.

Yea, that might be the 20" record. You need to put the original 17" wheels on the Hawk and see what you could do. I think MightyMouse made a 10 second pass with his street tires. I see alot of claims like quickest stock internal, cam only, this and that, well I want to know the record for 17" tires. I know that TwinTurboCE drives on the street with M/T drag radials (275-17), I wonder what that car would do at the track with those.

I ran 10.8's last year on BFG 315-35-17 in a 2000 Camaro, race weight was about 4000 lbs, auto, 382 and nitrous (bad converter)....I am shooting for a low 10 high 9 on some MT ET Street drag radials this year (275-40-17) with my new combo. I had 1.59 short times on the 10.8 runs. 17x11 rears and 17x9.5 fronts.

Drag radials aren't street tires?
I thought street tires just had to be street legal?

Mighty Mouse wins hands down, ad his car looks even better in person. 11.97 with a 1.56 60 foot on 17" Nittos for me.

Kudos to Mightymouse for throwing on the street shoes to see what he could do (look how much he gave up at the start). I always end up defending my so-so times because of running with more or less street tires. Nothing against stripped down race cars, but a few hundred less lbs. and slicks makes a dramatic difference on E.T..

On 315/35/17 555R Nitto's:

Best on the 17's with skinnies on the front: 10.98 @ 122 (1.51) backed up with a 11.14 @ 121 (1.55) from another day.

Best with 17's all around was: 11.34 @ 119.30 (1.58) I have no doubt it could pull out a 11.1's, but I've never ran that combo in good weather.

With a set of 17" M/T Drag Radials it would easily go deeper.

For comparison my best "Stock Internals" with 17's all around was: 11.86 @ 112.93 (1.59)
