Stock LS1 Times
Ok... I have heard all this talk about different times that an LS1 stock can run. All the mags and the popular opinion is 13.9 but for some reason i just cant believe that 13.9 is all an LS1 is capable of when its stock. Can someone enlighten me as to what LS1's are capable of? Thanks in advance

Most people will see mid to low 13's. Unless someone is driving at a very high elevation or they just absolutely suck at driving, they're not going to get 13.9. I don't know who you're talking about that thinks that LS1's can only do 13.9, but they obviously don't know what they're talking about.

I ran a slew of 13.0's @ 108.x with my stock 01 M6 ...stock down to the paper filter. Then I added a QMP lid and a dynomax bullet muffler after the Y pipe going straight out the back passenger side (aka poor mans SLP loudmouth) and was rewarded with a 12.69 @ 110.8mph on a 2.007 60' and that was on the stock F1's. Now thoses times were during the winter at sea level here in LA. These cars are fast out of the box and don't cost much to get them to low 11's and well into the mid 120mph range.

A4 04 GTO.......13.8 at 101
Of course there always exceptions to the rules. there have been 04 GTO's that ran low 13's...
And C5's that have ran mid 12's..
But I feel that these are more realistic examples of what your likely to see/run

best is in sig but that is best on best weather best track condition.
On average the car has run 13.00 since it had 1200 miles give or take a bit for weather conditions

How much does temperature affect your drag times??? Because I believe that I am a reasonable driver and I couldnt break into the 13's the 2 times I went to the drag strip. The best I ran was a 14.05 at 103 and mt 60ft. was something like a 2.2 on Goodyear Eagle DS-D3's. Im not sure if it was the track that I go to is sloppy, Firebird Raceway, (something that I have heard before) or that it was because of it being 100 degrees outside that night, or that I need to bring down the 60 ft. Let me know.

The 60' time could use some work. Even just getting to a 2.0 flat would help a lot. I don't think I've done better than a 2.1 on my GS-D3's. Several 1.8's on drag radials. The general rule is each 1/10 off your 60' is good for 2/10's on your et.
