Default Fastest Anyone has Gone w/4L60E?

What is the fastest you have gone with a 4L60E in the Quarter mile? What were/are your mods/HP?

Thanks!

I know Cartek has a boosted C5 going 9.33 at around 150 mph.

It's a RPM trans, but I know they've had trouble keeping it in the car. FWIW

LPE would be the fastest, but they were probably rebuilding the trans every other week.

That Cartek Vette has gone 9.33.

Cablebandit has gone 9.9.

Yeah but any 4L60E is going to have problems at that power level. Rodney and the rest of the RPM guys do great work.

Best I have gone na is 10.16 @ 131.50, the DA was 992'. Never got to run it at sea level this past summer. One weekend I tried spraying with a 125 hp wet kit in 2nd & 3rd gears only (daytime, back in 97 degree heat) it went 9.89 @ 137. Never could hook it up in low gear while spraying it. Had an issue with a damaged servo piston that was leaking, bleeding off line pressure after low gear, that deal killed the 3-4 clutch pack about three weeks in a row. That has been about all the problems I have had the last three years. Have been able to run it all summer with no problems, up until then. That is fixed now. I have a friend/customer in upper New York state that has run about the same kind of times as I, and races two tracks every weekend, and never has a problem.

Good luck, Ed

Thats cool, Last weekend I ran a 10.26 @ 137.3. I didn't know there were so many A4's in the 9's and low 10's.

We've made several mid-high 10 second passes on our Rossler 4L60E. It will be really put to the test this summer and next Fall. We are NA so that may ease some of the stress that others are experiencing with the power adders. If it holds up to multiple 10.2-3s on motor then I'm extremely pleased. I was told by the builder to try and tear it up so I am

Couple questions....

How many runs are some of these trans seeing, or how often are they subjected to the full power?

Sled, you said the 4L60E is now bulletproof, WTF? If anyone made such a trans, they could warranty it even for use in racing with a power adder and back their warranty up....I have yet to see one that is willing to be that serious about their trans. I would have stayed with the 60E if they didnt blow 3-4th, or sprags or *you name it*.

koolrayz, you know I am waiting the results of the Braked Rossler E'. I think it will be interesting to say the least.

Want a bulletproof 4L60E? Two ways to get it...
1 go to sleep dreaming about it and nothing else.

2 take a 4L60E, strip out the electronics, strip out the OD gearing, lighten it up about 40lbs, change up the gearing some, add beefier internals and RMVB w/ Trans Brake and be happy knowing your TH350 wont let you down.....or if your that worried, put a 400 in it.

LOL, I have been running my 4L60e for over a year with 600+ rwhp. Haven't broken it once. Just need new soft parts every year or two.
