Hey guys i got a buddy that has a ws6. very extensive mods. forged motor 346, afr heads, cam somewhere around 231/237 im not sure exactly. vigilante 3200 12 botl with 3.72 etstreets ls6 intake. dynoed 400rwhp. tranny has been upgraded by local guy nto sure what all was replaced...... ok now for the bad part
12.6 @110 with a 1.75 60 ft.... dont have hte time slip for the rest of the info. can you guys tell what to have him check out... test etc... it is a full weight car but those tiems were one skinnies and et streets. converter was changed as it was thought to be slipping... shop says tranny is fine. i think slip is <5rpm or something... anyways any help would be great. oh he was almost out of nitrous but ran on it anyways to a 11.86@115... 150 shot but again bottle was almost completly empty

ok i think the car ran a 13.0@107 with longtubes and a lid with a 2800 stall no other mods. went in for forged motor, afr heads cam 12 bolt 3.73 dynoed about 389 but only 440 with a 150 shot tranny slipping... so tranny was rebuilt and a 3200 stall was put in... went to track ran a 12.6@109 went back to tuner. said that stall was bad... ordered 3200 vigilante had it put in... went up to 400 and on a 150 shot 550/600tq tuner said everything looked grerat. added skinnies went to track ran 12.6@110. went for nitrous run but when he purged just air came out, they must of run out the nitrous tuning so he ran it anyways to an 11.86@115.

what other info do you need?

fill the bottle up and try it again. A N2O tune is not going to perform when you run on motor. When you go WOT the timing is taken out. If he has LS1 edit then he can change the timeing for motor pass' and then change it back for N2O pass'. It sounds like he built the car for N2O, so slap the bottle in and let it fly. I personally might have went with a Yank or ATI 4000 stall. something alittle tight for the N2O. I'll give you an example of my car. 11:42 is the best i got out of it on motor and N2O tune. So far 9:92 is the best on a 200 shoot.

Sounds like the tune is not right...he needs to talk to his tuner or go with someone else.

Need to know what the 60' time is? With headers and a tune on a stock engine I ran a 12.6 @ 112mph and had no traction out of the hole with the street tires, so he has problems for sure!

11:42 is the best i got out of it on motor and N2O tune"
what mph?

his 60 was a 1.75... very minor tire spin... I told him to autotap and find out what his timing is.... ill report back when i find out.... but even on a nitrous tune i would expect far better times.... and mph like around 116-117 at least... for his mods....

also tuner is fairly reputable been at it a long time...

ok got a little info.... 1-2 shift is at 5200 and 2-3 is at 6200... how much do you think that will cost him.... ie retune at 6600 both gears should be a major improvement right? how much? also he mentioned some know he is going to go back and see what the timing is.... i think he has 12:1 compression and 93 octane... what should timing be???

update timing 21.5 with 2 kr.... 4kr@ 2700 then drops to 2

Have him check the throttle body to make sure it was opening all the way. I ran an identical 12.6 @ 110 after full boltons and a Bauer TB swap. Took me a month (till nitrous install/ WOT switch) to find out it wasn't opening 100%, more like 70%. When I floored it, I was about 1.5 inches from hitting the WOT switch.

personally I would run a couple of gallons of race gas ,turn up timing a few degrees, shift at about 6700 rpm and it should be better than now

I think that 93 octane on a 12:1 compression motor is a little low. I'd go with at least 100. What fuel was the motor tuned on? Can he feel the motor pinging? 110 mph sounds low for that set up, even with a nitrous tune. Those shift points will hurt big also. Gotta get that car down the track N/A before you spray again. You'd be suprised at what you can run N/A on a nitrous motor. I ran 10.8 @123mph with my nitrous 408 and that was at 3500lbs with 3:42 gears (12 bolt) and 28" tall tires. (nitrous tune) and I think Dopefedz went 10.2's on his nitrous motor. Good luck.

it was tuned on 93. can not feel pinging... he is going back on thursday for a retune, mainly for shift points and to look into the kr...

separate question why a 1.75 60? shouldnt a 3200 and 3.73 pull harder than that? etstreets and no spinning.

i would think with 400 n/a hp he would be atleast have 116-118 mph, something is definitely not right.a scan tool like the scanmaster or the likes might be a good investment after he gets retuned.

something is wrong for sure. That car should be running high to mid 11's without nitrous
