M6 guys do you launch in 1st or 2nd?

I'm no expert on this, but I do know that it depends on your setup. If you're on a stock suspension, street tires type deal, most people only hold the car at a few thousand RPMs and slowly let the clutch out, keeping the throttle in the same position.
If you have a slick with an upgraded suspension and new rear-end most people hold the car at the rev limited then let the clutch slip out from under their foot.
These are the two extremes. How you personally launch should be an interpolation of the two based on what type of setup you have.

You can try the above if you dont like your clutch, I dont know anybody that is lauching in 2nd unles you have the gear and the power to back it up on the street 2000-2500 rpm fast let out of the clutch, not a dump, on the track I have launched as high as 4200 rpm and hooked with street tires.

it will never be a transmission problem, i think i have proven that, it will always be a driver problem/preference. a 6speed with someone in the seat that knows wtf they are doing is very consistant and just as fast as a auto car untill you start getting deeeeep in the 9's where you cant consistantly hook up a stick car, until then neither tranny is better than the other
didnt mean to get off topic but no way in heck this thread can be a serious question
