Hoosier QTP vs E/T Streets...
I searched like crazy, but couldnt find anything conclusive... Have any of you guys run hoosier's and mickey's? Which one hooks better? How do the hoosier fair?
I want to go with a tire that compares to the size of a 28x10.5 ET Drag, but none of the ET Streets are close enough, best match is the 28x12.5 ET Street and it's section width is almost a full inch wider, and a 28x11.5 ET Street only has a 8.6 tread width...
So the closest thing I can find to the ET drag with a 10.0 tread width is the 28x11.5 Hoosier QTP...
Any and all help would be appreciated... And any other suggestions as well... I would love to run an ET Drag, but I do alot of 'street night' racing at the track, and they don't allow full drag's...
edit: Or even better, has anyone fit a 28x12.5 ET Street in a non-minitubbed car? I am not afraid to pound the hell out of the fenderwells... I just want a 28" tire with a 10" contact... please help guys...

I run ET streets 28X12.5X16 on my stock rims. I use to have Hoosier QTP 28X11.5X16 and would suggest those over the ET streets. The ET streets have 10.5 inches of tread where the Hoosiers are 10 inches. Hoosiers hook way better; although, they don't last long on the street because they are softer.

I run the 28x12.5x15 ET Streets on 10 wheels. I have adjustable LCAs to center the tire in the wheelwell, and had to BFH the inner fender. The stick just as good as the QTP on a well setup car and last a lot longer.

The vids in my sig were on 28x11.5x15 QTPs on an average T&T night prep, honestly they work almost as well as 10.5x28x15 ET drags and they are close to the same size. I switch them all the time (some races I go to have to be DOT tired) and I have the same 60's with both, the QTPs are great tires..
I ran the 11.5x28x15 ET street for a while and they worked OK, good enough for 10 teens but that was it on my car, never tried the 12.5x28 ET street though..

QTP's get my vote as well. I have run both the hoosiers and the m/t in the same sizes and I have found that the hoosiers hook better at a higher pressure and dont need as long a burn out.

I put in a vote on the Hoosiers, hands down! Mine have plenty of tread left on them after like 6-7 visits to the track and this is after doing massive burnouts! I have also NEVER had a problem with traction with these puppies, I would pick these over MTs any day!!

I haven't tried the ET streets but I'm running an itty bitty set of QTP's (26 x 9.5 x 16. same size as an 8" slick) on some stock salad shooters. They're almost 3" narrower than the stock tires I took off the car. I never thought they'd hook because they almost look like skinnies on the back of the car. I load the converter to 3000 on the line and go WFO on the last yellow. 1.57 60' times dead hooking. I'm making stock power and the car is heavy so maybe that's why I can dead hook with these little tires. Whatever it is, I'm not switching to another brand anytime soon. These tires are fantastic. Don't get caught in the rain though...pucker city if you know what I mean.
