Default ideal drag racing setup...what do you guys think?

I typically stay away from making threads asking for opinions but i figured i would let you guys know what i'm doing for my setup and see what you would change or maybe do different. here goes

Front:

PA Kmember and lower control arms
QA1 coil overs R series with 300# springs (runnign iron block motor)

Rear:

Moser 9" housing with Strange alum. center 35spl. axles
Wolfe Double Swaybar normal (not above rear mount.)
Wolfe Torque arm
Wolfe LCAs and PHR
Wolfe Adjustable Upper Spring Mounts
Afco 12 way shocks
still not sure what springs in the rear. with the adj. mounts it will allow for a wide variety. i'll just have to get the car scaled and figure that part out.

anyways, what do you hardcore drag guys think and what if anything would you change? thanks for any and all opinions

Just making sure you were planning to go fast enough to put that high dollar suspension setup to use! lol

i would reccomend that suspension setup to anyone that plans to drag race at ANY level. i would probably say the double sway bar might be overkill for an 11 sec. car, but a wolfe single would be great. i wish i had known about them a few years ago when i was running 11.20s and twisting the **** outta my car.

I would run 275 lbers for front springs. Even with the Iron block you'll still be pretty light with manual steering, and all the other weight reduction you'll hopefully be doing.

i'm going to keep the stock steering rack but ditch the pump and **** for the time being, i'll end up putting a madman rack on it later this year though. i'll look into things about running the 275# springs and see what i can find out about that. thanks for the info.

In a nutshell, what's the advantage/disadvantage with going with a 300lbs spring over a 275 pound spring in a lighter car? Less weight transfer? More trasfer? Less unloading of the tires after you come down off your wheely? Thanks

i think it's to compensate for the extra weight coming down off the wheely like you said DAP. i'm interested to know for sure also. i wish someone like Dan from wolfe racecraft would chime in and let us know for sure. hopefully he will sometime!.

Not as much potential energy there when you slam back down on the front springs. Think about the cars you see running at the track that bounce a few times after coming down...way too much stored energy...i.e. way too much energy in the front springs or too high of a spring rate.

Guys, created a thread called "Spring Rates Continued" in which I asked a series of questions regarding spring rates. Take a look!
